In a connector, a guide member to which an optical connector is fixed is provided with a first guide portion. The optical connector is provided with a second guide portion at a tip portion, in a mating direction, of a holding member thereof. The optical connector has a ferrule with a tip, and the tip is located between the first guide portion and the second guide portion in the mating direction. When the connector is connected to a structural body and before the optical connector reaches an accommodating portion, the first guide portion performs rough positioning of the optical connector with respect to the accommodating portion in a plane perpendicular to the mating direction. When the connector is connected to the structural body, the second guide portion guides the optical connector into the accommodating portion.

Connector

A connector-incorporating plug contains a connector to be inserted into and connected to an adapter in a receptacle and is connected to the receptacle. The connector-incorporating plug includes a housing that is located at a back-end side of the connector in a direction of insertion, to hold the connector, a spring pressing the housing in the direction of insertion, a holder that is located in front of a flange portion formed on the housing and that is mounted to the housing, and a shell member. The holder is pressed by the spring through the flange portion to butt against a projection formed on the inner wall of the shell member, and is kept there. The housing is movable with respect to the holder only along a first axis orthogonal to the direction of insertion. The holder is movable with respect to the shell member only along a crossing axis.

Connector-incorporating plug

In an optical-connector-incorporating plug accommodating and holding an optical connector in a barrel at a front end thereof and accommodating, in the barrel, an extra length portion of an optical fiber extending from an optical cable to the optical connector, the extra length portion bends as the optical connector is moved toward a back end of the barrel when the optical connector is connected to a mating receptacle; the distance from the position where the optical connector is held to the outer wall of the barrel depends on the direction, among the directions orthogonal to the direction in which the optical connector is moved; and a guide portion guiding the bend of the extra length portion in a direction other than the direction where the distance to the outer wall of the barrel is the shortest is formed in the barrel. The optical-connector-incorporating plug can be reduced in size.

Optical-connector-incorporating plug

An optical module is formed of a first optical block and a second optical block each equipped with a lens the optical axis of which needs to be aligned, the blocks being positioned and secured to each other, and has stepwise positioning means. A positioning means includes spring pieces each having an abutting slope, and edges. Four spring pieces are formed in the second optical block such that their abutting slopes are disposed at four corners of the second optical block. Positioning is implemented when the abutting slopes meet the edges of the first optical block. Another positioning means includes a depressed part and a guide slope formed in one of the two optical blocks and a raised part formed in the other optical block. The raised part is fitted into the depressed part.

Light shielding sheet of a biological optical measuring instrument

An adapter unit capable of preventing breakage of a positioning key for accurately connecting first and adapters. A key is formed on an inner peripheral surface of a hollow cylindrical portion of a receptacle adapter such that a front end thereof is rearward of a front end of the hollow cylindrical portion. Projecting portions are formed on the inner peripheral surface of the hollow cylindrical portion at locations away from the key in a circumferential direction, for receiving a front end of a hollow cylindrical portion of a plug adapter inserted into the hollow cylindrical portion of the receptacle adapter. Receiving portions are formed on an outer peripheral surface of the hollow cylindrical portion of the plug adapter, for receiving the projecting portions. The front end of the key is rearward of the front end of each projecting portion.

Adapter unit

An optical connector which enables an operator to easily remove a ferrule from a housing without using a special jig by himself alone. A supporting member that is mounted in a housing in a manner capable of being inserted and removed in a state in which the ferrule is held therein, includes a supporting member main body which is accommodated in the housing, and an operating portion which temporarily releases an engagement between protrusions formed on the supporting member main body and through holes formed in the housing. The operating portion is arranged in a manner protruding outside the housing when the supporting member is mounted in the housing.

Optical connector

A scanning endoscope processor, comprising a photoelectric converter and a controller, is provided. The scanning endoscope processor controls a scanning endoscope having first and second transmitters and an actuator. The photoelectric converter receives light transmitted from the second transmitter and generates a pixel signal according to the amount of light received. The second transmitter transmits reflected light and/or fluorescence from a point within an observation area illuminated by the light emitted from a first emission end. The first transmitter emits the light as a beam from the first emission end. The actuator moves the first emission end along a spiral course. The controller adjusts at least one of a first angular velocity and a generation cycle so that the product of the first angular velocity, the generation cycle, and a first distance is within a predetermined range.

Scanning endoscope processor and scanning endoscope apparatus

An optical connector is selectively attachable to one of optical fiber cables including a first type optical fiber cable and a second type optical fiber cable. Each of the optical fiber cables includes a common optical fiber and a common ferrule fixed to the common optical fiber. The first type optical fiber cable further includes a tension member. The second type optical fiber cable further including a tensile member. The optical connector has a swage portion through which the common ferrule is inserted forward when one of the optical fiber cables is attached to the optical connector. The swage portion has an outer surface on which the tensile member is swaged when the second type optical fiber cable is attached to the optical connector. The optical connector also has a fixing portion having at least one receiver hole formed therein for receiving and fixing an end of the tension member of the first type optical fiber cable. The fixing portion is located forward of the swage portion.

Optical connector and optical connector cable

A scanning endoscope apparatus, comprising a first transmitter, an actuator, a first optical filter, a second optical filter, a second transmitter, a first photo-detection unit, and a position determiner, is provided. The first transmitter transmits light to a first emission end. The actuator moves the first emission end. The first optical filter reflects the light of the first band. The second optical filter transmits the light of the first band at a transmittance that varies according to the position. The second transmitter transmits the light of the first band from a second incident end to a second emission end. The first photo-detection unit detects an amount of the light of the first band. The position determiner determines a position of the first emission end on the basis of the amount of the light of the first band.

Scanning endoscope apparatus, scanning endoscope, and scanning endoscope processor

A scanning endoscope, comprising a first transmitter, an actuator, and a mirror, is provided. The first transmitter emits a beam of radiant light from an emission end. The actuator moves the emission end in a direction perpendicular to an emission direction. The mirror is arranged from the emission end in the emission direction when the emission end is on a predetermined standard point. The mirror comprises a reflection surface around a first straight line. The distance between a first position on the first straight line to any second position on the reflection surface increases as the first position is moved in the first direction. The reflection surface reflects the radiant light emitted from the first transmitter toward the observation area around the first straight line.

Scanning endoscope, scanning endoscope processor, and scanning endoscope apparatus

An endoscope apparatus, comprising an imaging controller, a receiver, and an image generator, is provided. The imaging controller makes an optical image to be captured so that the amount of optical information to be captured per a certain area size for an enlarged observation area is greater than that for a normal observation area. The receiver receives the optical information as a pixel signal. The image generator generates a normal image signal corresponding to a normal image on the basis of the pixel signals captured within the normal observation area and a part of the pixel signals captured within the enlarged observation area. The image generator generates an enlarged image signal corresponding to an enlarged image on the basis of the pixel signals captured within the enlarged observation area.

Endoscope apparatus and scanning endoscope processor

A scanning endoscope, comprising a first transmitter, an actuator, and a mirror, is provided. The first transmitter emits a beam of radiant light from the first emission end. The actuator moves the first emission end in a direction perpendicular to an emission direction. The mirror is arranged from the first emission end to the first direction. The mirror comprises a through-part and a reflection surface. The radiant light emitted from the first emission end passes through the through-part when the first emission end is within a first circumference. The reflection surface reflects the radiant light emitted from the first emission end toward the observation area around the first straight line when the first emission end is outside of the first circumference.
