A steam generating device () is provided with a metal housing (), a water supply opening () for supplying water into the housing (), a steam generating heater () embedded in the lower part of the housing () and evaporating the water supplied from the water supply opening (), a steam temperature raising heater () provided above the steam generating heater () with a predetermined distance from an inner wall of the housing () and raising the temperature of the steam generated by the steam generating heater (), and a discharge opening () for discharging the superheated steam generated by the steam temperature raising heater ().

Steam generating device and cooking device

A protruding portionhaving a sloped surfacesloped against a ceiling surface is provided on the ceiling side of a cooking chamber. Superheated steam from a steam temperature-raising deviceis blown off from first ceiling steam blowoff openingsprovided in a flat surfaceof the protruding portiontoward a bottom face within the cooking chamber, while the superheated steam is blown off from second ceiling steam blowoff openingsprovided in a sloped surfaceof the protruding portiontoward the side face within the cooking chamber. The superheated steam blown off from these steam blowoff openingsandis effectively supplied to upper-and-back surface of a heating objectrested in the cooking chamberso as to be spaced from the bottom face of the cooking chamber
