Provided is a capacitive sensor sheet for use in measuring at least one of an amount of strain due to elastic deformation and a distribution of strain due to elastic deformation, and the capacitive sensor sheet comprises: a dielectric layer; a top electrode layer laminated on the obverse surface of the dielectric layer; and a bottom electrode layer laminated on the reverse surface of the dielectric layer, wherein the dielectric layer is composed of an elastomer composition containing a urethane elastomer, and each of the top electrode layer and the bottom electrode layer is composed of an electroconductive composition containing carbon nanotubes.

Capacitive sensor sheet and capacitive sensor for measuring elastic deformation

A capacitive sensor includes a sensor sheet having a central electrode layer and a measuring instrument. A first dielectric layer is laminated on the upper surface of the central electrode layer. A second dielectric layer is laminated on the lower surface of the central electrode layer. A first outer electrode layer is formed on the surface of the first dielectric layer. A second outer electrode layer is formed on the surface of the second dielectric layer. The central electrode layer and the first outer electrode layer face each other at a first detection portion. The central electrode layer and the second outer electrode layer face each other at a second detection portion. Capacitances of the detection portions change with deformation. The state of deformation of the sensor sheet is measured on the basis of the total capacitance by adding the capacitances of the first detection portion and the second detection portion.

Capacitive sensor

A sensor device includes a sensor element, a converter, and an output unit. The sensor element includes a sheet-like dielectric layer including an elastomer composition and a top electrode layer and a bottom electrode layer each including an electroconductive composition containing carbon nanotubes. The top and the bottom electrode layers are formed on a top surface and a bottom surface of the dielectric layer, respectively, and are at least partially opposed to each other across the dielectric layer. The at least partially opposed portions of the top and the bottom electrode layers constitute a detection portion, and the dielectric layer reversibly deforms to change an area of a main surface of the dielectric layer. The converter electrically is connected to the sensor element and converts capacitance at the detection portion that varies in accordance with the deformation of the dielectric layer to electric characteristics.

Sensor device and stretchable structure

Provided is a stretchable electrode which has excellent flexibility, stretchability and electrical conductivity and is capable of suppressing increase of the electric resistance in being elongated and the occurrence of variation in the electric resistance during repeated stretching and contracting. The stretchable electrode of the present invention comprises a base formed of an elastomer composition and an electrode main body integrated with the base, wherein the electrode main body is formed using multi-walled carbon nanotubes having a fiber length of 50 &#x3bc;m or more.

Stretchable electrode, sensor sheet and capacitive sensor

A capacitance-type sensor sheet used for measuring an amount of stretch deformation and strain and/or distribution of stretch deformation and strain may include a dielectric layer made of an elastomer, an obverse-side electrode layer laminated on the obverse surface of the dielectric layer, and a reverse-side electrode layer laminated on the reverse surface of the dielectric layer. The obverse-side electrode layer and the reverse-side electrode layer may each contain carbon nanotubes and the average thickness of the each of obverse-side electrode layer and the reverse-side electrode layer may be 0.1 &#x3bc;m or more and 10 &#x3bc;m or less. The obverse-side electrode layer and the reverse-side electrode layer may be formed by applying a coating solution containing carbon nanotubes. The obverse-side electrode layer and the reverse-side electrode layer may each include a plurality of band-shaped bodies.
