Disk changer apparatus employs a commercially-available drive device that includes a sliding tray having an opening preformed therein. Disk elevator section has a portion movable through the opening of the sliding tray and thereby allows a disk to be transferred between a disk transport section and the sliding tray of the drive device utilizing the opening of the sliding tray.

As a front panel of a disk changer apparatus is moved to an open position, a disk rack moving in response to the movement of the front panel operates to hold a plurality of disks in a staggered configuration. Such a staggered configuration of the disks allows a user to easily pick up and take out any desired disk from the disk rack.

A band comprising many beam portions and arcuate hinge portions formed integrally so as to be alternately arranged, a fitting force being obtained at least due to the returning force of the hinge portion so that the band can be expanded even with a small force and, in spite of the repeated use over a long period, the fitting force and winding action will not deteriorate and the band will not crack. The bands are connected symmetrically to both ends of a top band and are utilized as head bands for headphones.

A pickup device for a disc player includes a pickup arm pivotally mounted at one end thereof for movement between upper and lower positions. The pickup arm is horizontally movable about the one end thereof. A drive device is responsive to a driving signal from a control circuit to drive an arm lifter for moving the pickup arm between its upper and lower positions. A brake device is also responsive to the driving signal for holding the pickup arm against the horizontal angular movement during its vertical movement.
