In a gear pump in which a driving rotor that is driven by a driving source meshes with a driven rotor that is driven by the driving rotor for rotation to pump a hydraulic oil, only one of the driving rotor and the driven rotor is given the steam treatment while the other remains untreated.

Gear pump

A stepped down grooveis provided around the peripheral surface of a rod portionof a spoolwhich faces a third oil groove. Both the axial endsandof the stepped down grooveare located axially outside of both the axial endsandof the third oil grooveat least while the valve is in pressure-adjusting condition. Also, another stepped down grooveis provided around a landwhich faces a first oil groove. Both the axial endsandof the stepped down groovecome, respectively, to the right and left sides of the axial endof the first oil grooveto which end the spoolshifts to increase the opening of the oil groove at least while the valve is in pressure-adjusting condition.
