Provided is an electrical junction box with a novel structure with which the occurrence of solder cracks can be advantageously avoided, while also achieving a reduction in manufacturing costs. In an electrical junction box including an terminal-equipped printed circuit board in which an intermediate section of a board terminal in the length direction is press-fitted into and held by a resin block, and a lead portion of the board terminal is connected to a conductive path of a printed circuit board by soldering, the resin block is formed of a flat-shaped printed circuit board base material, and is arranged on the printed circuit board with a gap therebetween, and the resin block is supported in a fixed position on the printed circuit board by a block-receiving portion that is separate from the resin block.

Electrical junction box

An electrical connection unit which includes a main box, a connector mounted from one side of the main box, and a junction block mounted in the main box from the opposite side. The junction block carries electrical parts such as relays, fuses, etc. There is a connector cavity in the main box into which the connector is placed. There is also a support in the connector cavity upon which the connector rests in its preliminary position. Tightening elements on the junction block and the connector serve to affix these two elements together in their assembled position. There are also cavity grooves on the inner surface of the connector cavity and complementary projections which enter the grooves as the elements are assembled. The Invention provides a means whereby the connection unit can be readily assembled without the necessity of turning it over and without the use of any tools. The tightening means are simple and easy to operate, thus minimizing the cost of the finished product.

Self-tightening electrical connection unit

The present invention provides an electric connection box capable of preventing water from entering into the inside from the clearance between a closing area and an upper cover, thereby improving the water tightness. An electric connection box formed is formed of synthetic resin and includes a lower cover. An electric component mounting block housed in the lower cover, and an upper cover interfits with the lower cover. In addition, a guiding groove having an open upper area opened for passing a wire harness is provided in the lower cover, and a closing member is provided on the electric component mounting block for closing the guiding groove in the lower cover. Furthermore, in order to close a clearance between the closing member and the upper cover, a projection is formed either on the closing member or on the upper cover. With this projection, water is prevented from entering into the inner area of the electric connection box.

Electrical connection box

An electrical connection box assembly provided with a projection extending outwardly thereof. The projection is preferably in the shape of a semi-circular channel and a wiring harness passes from electronic devices within the box, through a cut out in the front wall, and rests in the semi-circular channel. It is retained in the channel by a tie strap which is located between two retaining elements spaced apart approximately the width of the strip and forming planes parallel to the front face of the box. In this manner, the tendency of the strap to slide along the projection is eliminated and the strap can be tightened by pulling straight up thereon, thereby minimizing the space needed under the hood to install the device.

Electrical connection box assembly

An electrical connection box assembly which is provided with a projection extending outwardly of the body and located on the front wall at an angle thereto. The projection tapers from its proximal end adjacent the front wall toward the distal end remote therefrom. Thus, after the wire harness is placed in the projection, a tie strap is tightened therearound. The tapered configuration of the projection urges the tie strap toward the retaining element located adjacent the distal end. Thus, the wire harness can be reliably and securely fixed in its desired position.

An electrical assembly including a connection box and a junction block. The connection box has an electrically conductive plate mounted on one wall which is connected to a source of electricity through an external supply section. The junction block has a plurality of electrical elements on one side and a power transmission section on the other. The latter is electrically conducted to the conductive plate by a transmission harness. Electrical power flows from the source, through the supply section, through the conductive plate, through the transmission harness, and to the electrical elements. The supply section is in the form of a single cable, as is the transmission harness. A generally rectangular attachment section is part of the supply section and receives the head of the fixing bolt and retains it therein. The head of the fixing bolt is inserted into a generally rectangular attachment section and a nut is screwed on the opposite end, thereby clamping the entire supply section together. This provides excellent contact and connection, with a minimum of difficulty in assembly.

An electrical connection unit having a junction block and a plurality of connectors mounted thereon. The junction block carries a plurality of electrical elements, also mounted thereon and in electrical contact with the elements. There is a plurality of wire harnesses extending from the connectors and the side walls of either the junction block or a main box are extended beyond the connectors in a direction away from the elements. The remote edges of the side walls bear against the vehicle body and provide a space between the edges and the connectors. This construction provides a space through which the wire harnesses can be passed and a simple means of waterproofing without the necessity of a bottom cover. In addition, the pull-out section is composed of two semi-cylinders, which are hinged to each other so that the wire harnesses can be placed therein and one of the semi-cylinders rotated about the hinge, closed, and latched.

An electrical connection box having an L-shaped rib on the inside wall of its lower cover to engage a fitting projection located on the bottom face of an electrical unit housed within the box. The connection between the side wall of the lower cover and the electrical unit reinforces the area adjacent the notch through which the wires pass and securely maintains the electric unit inside the box.

A wire assembly is formed by insertion of a wire into a wire guide including a wire guide which is either a receiving groove or pairs of guide projections in or on an insulation substrate. Cramping terminals may be connected to the wire, and the wire may be cut in desired positions to separate it into a plurality of circuits. A retainer is provided which is at an angle to the leading end of the wire guide at a starting position. The wire is inserted into the wire guide after its leading end has been introduced into the wire retainer.

Wire assembly and method of production thereof

A continuous strand of wire is laid in a wire groove or between pairs of guides on a substrate and is cut at desired locations to form individual circuits. At least one recess below the level of the wire laying plane is positioned to correspond to a scrap wire portion to be cut off. The recess is wide enough to allow insertion of cutters. The cutters include pairs of first and second cutting blades located at opposite sides of the wire which are moved toward the wire so that both ends of the scrap wire portion are cut by the first cutting blades and by the second cutting blades, respectively.

An electrical connection construction between an electrical connection box and an electronic circuit unit, comprising: a plurality of bus bars which are provided in the electrical connection box and each include a first tab; and a plurality of terminals which are provided in the electronic circuit unit and a front end of each of which is inserted into a front end of the first tab of each of the bus bars of the electrical connection box so as to be connected to the first tab of each of the bus bars of the electrical connection box; wherein the front end of each of the terminals is formed into a second tab and the first tab of each of the bus bars of the electrical connection box and the second tab of each of the terminals of the electronic circuit unit are provided so as to orthogonally intersect with each other; wherein a pressing contact slit is formed at a front end of one of the first and second tabs so as to receive a front end of the other of the first and second tabs.

Electrical connection construction between electrical connection box and

A circuit component having a plurality of flat cables each formed by covering a group of parallel wires with a thick layer of insulating resin. The cables are superposed and preferably arranged so that their axes are not parallel. Cramping terminals are inserted into flat cables from above and below in specified predetermined positions, and are securely held therein. Wire contacts of the cramping terminals are connected to specific wires by penetrating the wire coatings means of cutters. The cramping terminal may be formed with a tab which forms an external terminal and connects the wire(s) therewith. The cramping terminals may also connect two or more wires of the same flat cable conductor member or of different flat cables, thus forming the desired circuit. A circuit component, including the desired circuit is separately formed in advance. A junction box is completed merely by mounting the preformed circuit component in the casing thereof.
