A network system according to the present invention includes a service providing server that provides an application service, a user terminal used by a user when using the application service, and a proxy server intervening between the service providing server and the user terminal. The user terminal includes a whitelist for an application in which at least a URL of the proxy server is described. The user terminal accesses the service providing server over the network and provides an application service to the user by starting the application program. When an access request to a URL of an access target specified by the application program is made during the provision of the application service, the user terminal compares the URL of the access target with a URL described in the whitelist for the application.

A base chassis has projection parts. A surrounding part of an image display surface of a plasma display panel (PDP) is in contact with a contact part formed around an opening part of a front case. The projection parts are fixed to a chassis fixation part of the front case. The projection parts each have an elastic structure part which elastically deforms in response to a pushing force to the display surface of the PDP. An external force from a rear case side is transmitted to the chassis fixation part only, preventing impact to the PDP. When the PDP directly receives an external force from the front case side, the elastic structure part can elastically deform to alleviate the impact to the PDP. This can alleviate stress to the PDP when applied an external force from the front surface and the rear surface of the cases.

A structure, in which the frame can be successfully fixed to the plasma display apparatus at a low cost, has been disclosed. The plasma display apparatus comprises a plasma display panel, circuit substrates having drive circuits to drive the plasma display panel, a main frame to mount the circuit substrates, and adhesive tapes to fix the plasma display panel to the main frame, and small holes are provided on the portion to which the adhesive tapes of the main frame are fixed so that they are arranged regularly at established intervals. When the adhesive tapes and the main frame are fixed, no air bubbles form between the adhesive tapes and the main frame because plural small holes are provided on the portion to which the adhesive tapes of the main frames are fixed.

A plasma display device is comprised of a plasma display panel, a circuit board having a driving circuit for driving the plasma display panel, a main frame for supporting the circuit board, and a uniform heat-conducting plate to be fixed to the plasma display panel. In this structure, although the uniform heat-conducting plate is fixed to the plasma display panel by means of, for example, an adhesive, the main frame can be detached from the uniform heat-conducting plate when the plasma display panel is replaced. As a result, various complicated structures such as a radiating fin and a rib can be formed on the main frame because consideration of the possibility of discarding the main frame along with a PDP to be replaced is no longer necessary. By forming the uniform heat-conducting plate to be a simple structure so as to reduce its manufacturing cost, and by forming the main frame to have a complicated structure to improve its thermal nature and the mechanical strength, the present invention is able to realize a plasma display device having improved thermal characteristics and mechanical strength without largely increasing the manufacturing cost.

The invention provides an image binarizing apparatus which includes multi-value image window circuitry for retrieving multi-value image data; a first binarizing circuit for binarizing the multi-value image data in accordance with a variable threshold determined based on the multi-value image data of pixels around a desired pixel; a second binarizing circuit for binarizing the multi-value image data in accordance with a predetermined threshold; and binary image window circuitry for retrieving image data which has been binarized by the second binarizing circuit. The image binarizing apparatus further includes edge detecting circuitry for comparing and collating binary two-dimensional image data obtained by the binary image window circuitry with edge templates each having a predetermined angle; memory circuitry for storing two types of smoothly binarized data in addresses which are generated based not only on the multi-value image data obtained by the multi-value image window circuitry, but also on the edge detection data which is output from the edge detecting circuitry; and selecting circuitry for selecting either one of the two types of smooth binary image data which are output either from the first binarizing circuit or from the memory circuitry.
