A metal surface temperature measuring device includes: a container to contain a coolant; a measurement target; a heater to heat the measurement target; a moving mechanism for moving the measurement target; and a thermometer to measure the surface temperature of the measurement target. A main body of the measurement target is formed of silver or copper, and a surface of the main body is coated with a thin film of pure iron or an iron alloy at a thickness of 1 to 100 &#x3bc;m. Further, at least the container, the heater, and the measurement target are disposed in a chamber of an inert gas atmosphere.

The invention provides a water-soluble metal working lubricant which is suitably employed particularly in press-working of aluminum material and which is excellent in both working properties and degreasing properties. Water-soluble metal working lubricant

The invention provides a water-soluble quenching medium suitably usable for quenching of metal, which can prevent quenching cracks and quenching ununiformity while having good hardenability. The medium comprises (A) a polyalkylene glycol having a weight average molecular weight of from 10,000 to 100,000 and/or its derivative, (B) a glycol ether having a weight average molecular weight of 1,000 smaller, and optionally (C) an alkylene glycol having a weight average molecular weight of 1,000 or smaller, (D) an alkali metal carboxylate, and (E) an organic amine compound having a weight average molecular weight of 1,000 or smaller.

Disclosed is a refrigerating machine oil composition, comprising a base oil and a metal salt of a carboxylic aid having from 3 to 60 carbon atoms. The refrigerating machine oil (lubricating oil) of the present invention is very well miscible with hydrogen-containing Flon refrigerants such as Flon 134a, achieves an excellent lubrication performance and is good enough to bring forth marked improvement of a wear resistance, particularly a wear resistance of aluminum-steel friction surfaces.

Rust and corrosion preventive compositions

A water-glycol hydraulic fluid comprising a higher aliphatic acid in a ratio of 2 to 15% by weight, alkali hydroxide in an amount less than an equivalent amount of the higher aliphatic acid, and an organic alkaline compound containing nitrogen atoms in an amount sufficient to adjust the pH of the whole fluid to 10 to 12 is disclosed.
