Slimming device capable of effectively activating an uncoupling protein to provide a good slimming action. The slimming device physically stimulates an uncoupling protein that is responsible for thermogenesis to activate the uncoupling protein, thereby generating heat. An uncoupling protein can be effectively activated by the physical stimulation.

Slimming device

An ultrasonic hair curling device capable of applying ultrasonic vibration efficiently to hairs for effective hair styling in a short time. The device includes a housing, an ultrasonic generator incorporated in the housing for generating ultrasonic vibrations, and a horn connected to receive and transmit the ultrasonic vibrations. The horn is formed at its end with a hollow barrel which projects from the housing for receiving therearound a strand of hair to be curled. The hollow barrel is provided at a portion intermediates at its longitudinal ends with a hair winding zone of which cross-section is smaller than the other portion of the hollow barrel. The hair winding zone of the reduced cross section can vibrate at an amplitude larger than at the front end of the barrel for applying the ultrasonic vibrations efficiently to the hair and making the hair curling effectively.

A heat exchange mat comprises at least a pair of mat members respectively including a heat exchange element and arranged side by side with their one side edges opposed, an elongated link member acting as a partition and linking between the opposed side edges of the mat members while allowing the interior of the respective members to communicate with each other at one longitudinal end of the link member, and means for supplying and discharging a heat exchange fluid to one of the mat members and out of the other member through supply and discharge tubes provided close to each other, the means being mounted to the mat at the other end of the link member, whereby substantially uniform thermal distribution overall the heat exchange mat is attained with remarkable improvement in the heat exchanging efficiency at its installing place.

A method of manufacturing heat exchange mat comprises a first heating step of a mat member for semi-gelatinizing a pasty resin adhesive in said mat member as interposed between a surface sheet and a textile insert on both surfaces of a hollow member including a heat exchanging element of the mat member so as to preliminarily bonding said sheet and insert, and a second heating step for securing a seal member to the peripheral edges of the mat member and simultaneously fully gelatinizing said resin adhesive, whereby the required manufacturing time can be shortened to a large extent.
