Provided is a surface covering material such as a sheet for a seat in a vehicle or as furniture, or upholstery for a vehicle, said surface covering material having good cooling and anti-stuffiness properties, while being able to inhibit the creation of fluff even if the surface is rubbed by hard protrusions such as the hook part of a hook-and-loop fastener. The surface covering material of the present invention is configured from a three-dimensional knit that includes a front knit fabric, a back knit fabric, and a connecting layer composed of connecting yarn that connects the front knit fabric and the back knit fabric, said surface covering material being characterized in that the outside surface of the front knit fabric is set to be a surface that comes into contact with a human body, and the stitch density of the front knit fabric is 11,500-20,000, inclusive.

Surface covering material

A covering material according to the present disclosure comprises a three-dimensional knitted material that is constituted by a surface layer knitted fabric, a back layer knitted fabric, and a connecting yarn which connects the surface layer knitted fabric and the back layer knitted fabric, said covering material being characterized in that: not less than 30% of stitches included in the surface layer knitted fabric are formed from a composite yarn that includes two or more differing types of colored yarn; and in the not less than 30% of stitches that are formed by the composite yarn, a stich formed by the composite yarn and a stitch adjacent thereto in the course direction and/or wale direction form an angle of 20-80 degrees.

Covering material including three-dimensional knitted material

A stretchable high density woven fabric showing a cover factor of from 1,800 to 2,540 and stretchability in terms of a stretch ratio of from 5 to 20% in the warp or weft direction and having a poly(trimethylene terephthalate) fiber at least in the direction in which the woven fabric shows stretchability. The high density woven fabric shows good stretchability and water resistance (water pressure resistance), produces less rustling when contacted with woven fabrics, and provides an excellent soft and comfortable feeling, and it is therefore appropriate for sportswear, outerwear, and the like.

Stretchable high-density woven fabric

A three-dimensional knit fabric having front and back knit layers and a monofilament yarn connecting the knit layers to each other, characterized in that the curvature of the monofilament yarn in the three-dimensional knit fabric is in a range from 0.01 to 1.6, and the bending elongation of the monofilament is 20% or less when the three-dimensional knit fabric is compressed to 50%. The three-dimensional knit fabric has a cushioning property in springiness which does not deteriorate even if the fabric is repeatedly used many times or for a long time, and thus this fabric is excellent in terms of durability of the cushioning property. In particular, the fabric is suitable for use as a hammock type seat and exhibits a cushioning property having a favorable springy feeling as well as a good fit feel.
