The present invention provides a deflection yoke for deflecting an electron beam emitted from an electron gun of a CRT (cathode ray tube). The deflection yoke is mounted on the CRT at a position between a neck tube having a small diameter section and a funnel having a large diameter section of the CRT. The deflection yoke comprises a horizontal deflection coil for deflecting the electron beam in a horizontal direction in the CRT, a vertical deflection coil for deflecting the electron beam in a vertical direction in the CRT, and a yoke core having a cone shape with a large diameter part at one end thereof in a side of the funnel and a small diameter part at another end thereof in a side of the neck tube to allow the yoke core to cover the horizontal and vertical deflection coils. The yoke core is made of a molded magnetic material cured by heating. The molded magnetic material includes a binder comprising a resin and a magnetic powder treated with a surface treatment agent comprising a compound having an aminoquinone group as a constitution unit.

A device for suppression of leakage of the magnetic flux in a cathode ray tube display apparatus which comprises at least a cathode ray tube having a face plate and horizontal beam deflection circuit generating the leakage, the deflection circuit comprising a pair of upper and lower coils each of which has a bend-up section producing a first magnetic field which deflects an electron beam of the cathode ray tube, and a second magnetic field produced as the leakage the first and second magnetic field forming a boundary plane therebetween, so that two boundary planes are formed of said upper and lower deflection coils, respectively, said device comprising; a pair of conductors each of which has a main portion and a lead portion connected to the main portion, said main portion of the pair of conductors being disposed approximately within said boundary plane and along approximately top and bottom rims of the face plate, respectively, said lead portion of the pair of conductors disposed along a side wall of a funnel of the cathode ray tube in such a form that one end of the lead portion is bent along a side rim of the face plate to couple with said main portion and another end of the lead portion extends toward a rear of the horizontal beam deflector, the pair of conductors being driven with a current proportional to a horizontal deflection current flowing through the horizontal beam deflectors.

Method and device for suppression of leakage of magnetic flux in display

A flyback transformer comprising a magnetic core assembled by joining together a pair of first and second U-shaped core halves each having two leg portions with end surfaces respectively joined in mutually abutting confrontation with respective gap spacers interposed therebetween at first and second core joint parts and a coil wound around the core joint parts. The coil includes, as an input winding, a primary winding divided into first and second primary windings which are wound at least around the two core joint parts of the core and are connected in parallel. By this arrangement, the magnetic fluxes generated at the two core joint parts cancel each other, and reduce the leakage flux field. Optionally, the two divided windings of the primary winding are each divided further into two windings wound around the leg portions on opposite sides of the spacers. At the same time, the first primary winding on the leg portion on one side and the second primary winding on the other side are connected in series. Furthermore, the first primary winding on the leg portions on the other side and the second primary winding on one side are connected in series. The coil includes, as an output winding, a secondary winding which can be operationally divided into at least two windings wound so as to envelop each of the two joint parts to thereby reduce the leakage flux.

Flyback transformer having coil arrangement capable of reducing leakage

In a deflection yoke of self-convergence system for use with in-line type color picture tube, the intensity of a magnetic field, which causes the change in impedance of coils of saturable reactors respectively connected in series with two horizontal deflecting coils, is increased so that the variation rate of the inductance expressed in terms of a differential coefficient has the relationship of .theta.e/.theta.m.ltoreq.0.5 wherein .theta.m is a differential coefficient around the center of the picture where the degree of vertical deflection is very small and .theta.e is a differential coefficient at top and bottom sides of the picture where the degree of vertical deflection is maximum. In one embodiment, an auxiliary coil connected to the vertical deflection coils is employed in each of the saturable reactors so as to increase the intensity of the magnetic field applied to the saturable reactors. In another embodiment, metallic member(s) is/are arranged to be close to the saturable reactors so as to reduce reluctance.

Picture correcting apparatus for use with in-line type color picture tube

In a high voltage DC generator, the primary winding of a flyback transformer is responsive to an input pulse for inducing a high-voltage potential in the secondary winding. A first pair of first and second diodes are connected in series from one of the secondary windings to a first output terminal. A second pair of first and second diodes are connected in series from the other terminal of the secondary winding to a second output terminal. Two capacitors are cross-coupled between the terminals of the secondary winding and the junctions of the diodes of each pair. The first diodes of each pair are turned on in response to the input pulse and the second diodes of each pair are turned on in response to the cessation of the pulse. A ringing reduction circuit comprises a resistive element, a capacitive element and a diode element, the diode and capacitive elements being arranged such that when the first or second diodes of both pairs are conductive the diode element turns on the charge the capacitive element, the resistive element being in circuit with the capacitive element to pass a current in response to the cessation of the pulse to dissipate ringing energy during the trace period.

High voltage DC generator with reduced ringing and voltage fluctuation

A voltage dividing resistor device comprises a pair of electrode terminals applied with a voltage, a plurality of resistor bodies coupled between the pair of electrode terminals, an electrode terminal through which a divided voltage is obtained from an intermediate point located among the plurality of resistor bodies, and at least one conductor part formed to overlap with a part of at least one of the plurality of resistor bodies. An effective length of the resistor body which has a part thereof overlapping with the conductor part, is shortened by a length of the conductor part. The length of the conductor part is set depending on the divided voltage which is to be obtained.

Voltage dividing resistor device

The primary winding of a stepup transformer is energized by a time-varying current for inducing a high voltage pulse in the secondary winding of the transformer in response to a rapid change in the time-varying current. A plurality of first diodes and a plurality of capacitors are arranged to form a voltage multiplier for multiplying the amplitude of the high voltage pulse and storing the multiplied pulse on the capacitors to develop a high DC voltage. A second diode is connected in a circuit between one end of the secondary winding and ground so that a current may flow in a loop through the first and second diodes in response to the high voltage pulse and potentials of opposite polarities may develop across the secondary winding. The second diode provides a capacitance in series with the distributed capacitance of the secondary winding, thus reducing the total capacitance to permit ringing to occur at a desired harmonic frequency of the high voltage pulse.

High DC voltage generator

In a deflecting yoke of an in-line type color picture tube, a pair of saturable reactors responsive to vertical deflection is connected to the horizontal deflecting coils so that horizontal deflection currents respectively flowing in two horizontal deflecting coils are controlled differentially in accordance with the degree of the vertical deflection, thereby minimizing raster distortion. Each of the saturable reactors may comprise a series connection of two coils connected to the vertical deflecting coils, and another series connection of two coils connected to the horizontal deflecting coils. The first-mentioned series connection may be omitted by positioning the second-mentioned series connection so that leakage flux from the vertical deflecting coils can be picked up. The core or cores of each of the saturable reactors are magnetically biased by a permanent magnet. A single disk-like magnet may be rotatably held to be in contact with two parallel cores so that rotation of the magnet results in change in impedance of the reactor.

Device for correcting an image on a picture tube having in-line electron

A saturable reactor having a pair of series coils is attached to the outside surface of the cores of the vertical deflecting coils where the series coils are connected in series with a parallel connection of the horizontal deflecting coils. Each of the pair of coils of the saturable reactor is wound around a drum core which is magnetically biased by means of a permanent magnet. The saturable reactor is positioned so that leakage flux from the vertical deflecting coils is led into the drum cores, thereby changing the inductance of the pair of coils in accordance with the degree of vertical deflection. The horizontal deflecting currents flowing through the horizontal deflecting coils thus controlled to chage the width of raster providing a trapezoidal raster which is needed for projecting a TV picture on a large screen.

A transformer assembly comprising a core structure having an open space, primary and secondary coil units mounted either in parallel or in concentric relationship on the core structure, and a unitary insulating envelope of heat-resistant dielectric material such as silicon rubber, the insulating envelope a portion encapsulating the windings of the primary and secondary coil units and a portion occupying that area of the above mentioned open space which is subject to production of a corona discharge due to the high voltage to be developed in the secondary coil unit. The insulating envelope is formed by injecting the dielectric material of fluid state into a mould to which the subassembly of the core structure and coil units is fitted in part of in its entirety except for terminal elements. A partial vacuum is established in the mould so that the insulating envelope produced is void-free. The transformer is useful especially as a flyback transformer for use in a horizontal deflection circuit of a television receiver.

Encapsulated transformer assembly

A voltage multiplier circuit assembly circuit is fabricated by the use of an apparatus which comprises a pair of guide walls juxtaposed on a horizontal insulative support, each of the guide walls having first and second slits in opposed relation to the corresponding slits in the other. The guide walls define a first and a second area and an intermediate area therebetween. Condensers of the wafer type is placed alternately on the first and second areas with one of their electrodes facing downward. Diodes having a pair of connecting leads are placed on the intermediate area alternately with the condensers and alternately through the first and second opposed slits. Conductive cementing agent is applied between the contact points of the condensers and diodes.
