There is provided a confocal microscope system configured so as to be compact in size without the needs for a large space, requiring fewer spots for adjustment. In the confocal microscope system, respective units making up the confocal microscope system are integrally housed in a protection cabinet covering the confocal microscope system, and when a specimen disposed opposite to an objective lens is moved toward an external face of the protection cabinet, a side of the external face, adjacent to an opening through which the specimen is taken in, or out, is defined as a front face, the Nipkow disk type scanner unit is disposed backward of the objective lens.

Confocal microscope system

A confocal microscope system capable of observing a bright field image and a fluorescent image together with a confocal image can be achieved with a simple configuration. The confocal microscope system may include a confocal scanner unit having a microlens array disc and a pin hole array disc, for scanning a face of the observation sample by a plurality of beam spots, a relay lens connected to a camera for acquiring observed images; a microscope for holding the observation sample and illuminating an observation light for observing the bright field image and an excitation light for observing the fluorescent image on the observation sample, and having a port part for outputting the observation light acquired from the observation sample to the confocal scanner unit; and a detour light path unit selectively inserted between the port part of the microscope and the confocal scanner unit.

A switch-type imaging fiber apparatus and a branch-type imaging fiber apparatus are provided. Light emitted from a laser light source is made incident on an opening of an IF (image fiber) guided by a GM (galvanometer), output from an optical system provided at a leading end portion of the IF, and applied to an observation target. The light reflected by the observation target is sent back to the IF, transformed into parallel light by an f&#x3b8; objective lens, reflected by a dichroic mirror, made incident on an image pickup device (CCD) via an imaging lens, and can be observed on a monitor. The GM is controlled to switch to make the light incident on the opening of an arbitrary one of a plurality of IFs. Accordingly, observation can be performed by focusing the light solely on the arbitrary IF.

Switch-type imaging fiber apparatus and branch-type imaging fiber apparatus

A test system for optical disks, comprising a spindle motor for clamping and rotating an optical disk at a constant speed; an encoder for generating a pulse output corresponding to the angle of rotation of the motor; a measuring head comprising focus and tracking servo mechanisms for causing the focal point of a laser beam irradiating the disk to follow the guide groove thereof, and a displacement detector for optically detecting the displacement of a focusing lens driven by the servo mechanisms; the measuring head being operative to generate an output signal proportional to the displacement of the focusing lens; a feed mechanism for moving the measuring head in the radial direction of the disk; a control circuit for controlling the operations of the motor, the servo mechanisms and the feed mechanism; an analog to digital converter for converting the output of the measuring head at a timing according to the pulse output of the encoder; and a computer for commanding the control circuit and for computing the output of the analog to digital converter to determine the shape of the disk, whereby displacement of the focusing lens is directly detected by the displacement detector.

Test system for optical disks

A test system for optical disks, comprising a spindle motor for bearing and rotating an optical disk at a constant speed; a measuring head, comprising focus servor and tracking servo mechanisms for causing the focal point of a laser beam irradiating the optical disk to follow the guide groove of the disk, for generating an output signal proportional to the intensity of the reflected beam coming from the optical disk; a feed mechanism for moving the measuring head in a radial direction of the optical disk; a control circuit for controlling the operations of the spindle motor, the focus servo and tracking servo mechanism of the measuring head, and the feed mechanism; a measurer for performing desired measurements in response to the output signal from the measuring head; and a computer for commanding the control circuit and the measurer and for processing the measured data of the measurer, whereby all the measurements are accomplished with the guide groove of the disk being under the focus and tracking servos.
