A navi-server which is provided with information from a traffic information providing center, and presents and provides information made on the information to a terminal is characterized by being equipped with a first storage means storing the information provided from the traffic information providing center; a traffic jam statistical making means which makes traffic jam statistical information including traffic jam information in a predetermined point and a predetermined zone as well as a reliability of the traffic jam information, based on information stored in the first storage means; and a second storage means storing information made by the traffic jam statistical making means, wherein the navi-server presents and provides the information stored in the second storage means to the terminal, based on a request of the terminal and at a predetermined timing.

Display method of navi-server and navigation

In an on-vehicle terminal system operating a plurality of operating systems, control of peripheral devices connected to the on-vehicle terminal system can be continued even if one of the operating systems is stopped. A second operating system monitors an operating status of a first operating system using an OS status monitoring function. When the first operating system stops, a list recording allocation of the peripheral devices is updated to switch the allocation to the second operating system. By doing so, an interrupt signal from a peripheral device is allocated to the second operating system, and accordingly the second operating system can control the peripheral device.

On-vehicle terminal system

An information processing apparatus wherein a plurality of operating systems operate on a single processor and a framework (shared object) enabling reliable and quick sharing of correct information between the plurality of operating systems is provided. The apparatus has a function the plurality of operating systems can create, register and refer to the shared object which provides an interface for registration and reference of information. The shared object is operated so that, while one of the operating systems is registering information or referring thereto, the other operating system is inhibited from registering the information and referring thereto. When one operating system finished the registration or reference of the information, one operating system informs the other operating system of the fact.

Information processing apparatus with multiple operating systems

In a broadcasting type information providing system, a moving body includes a bidirectional communication unit which performs communication with an information providing center an information processing unit which communicates request information necessary for a user via the bidirectional communication unit to the information providing center as well as presents answer information with respect to the request information to the user and a broadcast receiving unit which receives the answer information broadcasted from a broadcasting station and the information providing center generates the answer information with respect to the request information being transmitted from the moving body as well as selects a broadcasting station of which service area covers the position of the moving body depending on the position of the moving body detected either at the side of the moving body or at the side of the information providing center and causes the selected broadcasting station to broadcast the answer information, thereby when transferring information from the information providing center to the moving body an optimum communication means and broadcasting station can be selected.

The view point-setting part calculates the position of the view point V to be set behind the current position of the car and up in the air, based on the current position calculated by the current position-measuring part and the position correcting part. The data reading part reads out map data M about map elements such as buildings, which are located around the current position. The representing method-changing part calculates the distance or level difference between the viewpoint and each of the map elements, and, for example, changes the representation shapes of ones of the map elements near the view point, that is, in the region within a predetermined distance from the view point, to detailed shapes, and the rest ones far from the view point, that is, outside the region within a predetermined distance from the view point, to simple shapes, respectively. Finally, the display processing part composes an image of each of the map element according to the displaying mode of the map element, which is sent from the representation method-changing part, and displays the image.

Whether the structure data read from the map data correspond to a non-decomposition structure or a decomposition structure, the drawing attribute of the mesh boundary is modified for the decomposition structure, and textures such as windows are mapped on the side wall of the structure by mapping the texture on the side wall of the structure reconstructed after reconstructing the single-bodied structure before decomposition, or mapping the texture progressively on the side wall of the decomposition structure with the stored start point and end point of the texture to be mapped.
