A method for starting the operation of a loom always under a constant warp tension after the completion of the amendment of faults in the woven fabric such as miss-pick. A warp beam in the stationary loom is rotated by a commmand signal from a control unit in the normal or reverse direction so that the preset tension can be attained. As a result, a weaving bar which often occurs in the prior art just after the loom has restarted due to disturbance of gear ratio of the speed changer during the transient state can be avoided.

Method for starting the operation of a loom

A method of regulating the tension of warp yarns in a weaving machine is disclosed herein. Displacement of a tension roller, which is movable with a change in warp yarn tension, from a reference position corresponding to an optimum tension of the warp yarns in the weaving machine is detected by a sensor, which then converts such mechanical displacement of the tension roller into electrical signals proportional to the amount of said displacement. The signals are sampled successively in synchronism with the operation of the weaving machine. Adjustment of the speed at which a warp beam is rotated is made depending upon the data from sampled signals in such a way that the speed is decreased when the tension is dropped beyond the lower limit of a predetermined range, while it is increased when the tension is built up to exceed the upper limit thereof. In addition, adjustment of the warp beam rotational speed is made such that the speed is increased when the tension is built up so rapidly within the range as to exceed a predetermined rate, while it is decreased when the tension is dropped so rapidly within the range as to exceed said rate.

Method of regulating warp yarn tension in a weaving machine

The slack of a rove is actually developed by a time difference between the time point at which the rove is supplied simultaneously with the pushing down of a start button of a flyer frame, and the time point at which the winding of the rove commences after the presser has been pressed against the bobbin. The removing of the rove slack must be performed before the flyer frame attains its normal high speed operation. On the basis of this knowledge, the method according to this invention includes operating the flyer frame at a relatively low speed for a predetermined time period before the flyer frame is rotated at its normal high speed. During this time period, any slack of the rove can be removed.

An apparatus for detecting an erroneously inserted empty bobbin is disposed on a spinning frame which is provided with an automatic doffing and donning apparatus and a conveyor having empty bobbin supporting pegs mounted thereon. The detecting apparatus photoelectrically or electromechanically detects whether or not an empty bobbin is correctly inserted onto the corresponding empty bobbin supporting peg based on the fact that an incorrectly inserted bobbin inclines backwards and projects upwards. Method and apparatus for stopping a flyer frame at the time a roving breakage occurs in an outer layer of any roving package during the spinning operation thereof. When such roving breakage occurs, an abnormal amount of floating flies separated from the broken end portions of the roving scatter in the space between the twisting and winding mechanisms. Such abnormal amount of flies interrupt a light beam emitted from a light emitter, disposed at a position adjacent to and outside one end of the alignment of the twisting and winding flying mechanisms, toward a light receiver, disposed adjacent to and outside, but at the other end, of said alignment. When such interruption occurs the light receiver issues a signal indicating the interruption of the light beam to a power supply relay via a particular control circuit which identifies the abnormal amount of floating flies from the usual amount of floating flies. Therefore, when the control circuit identifies the signal corresponding to the abnormal amount of floating flies, the signal issued from the light receiver actuates the power supply relay so as to stop the flyer frame.
