The component fixing device includes a holding portion for holding the component and a fixed portion fixed to the fixing portion. Further, the holding portion includes a hook claw disposed at a distal end portion thereof, a hole portion for receiving a base portion of the hook claw and engaging with the distal end portion, an attaching portion for attaching the component, a first movement restriction member for restricting a movement of the component in a direction that the cable extends, and a second movement restriction member for restricting a movement of the component in a direction perpendicular to the direction that the cable extends.

A scanner is mounted on a printer. A printer lid is pivotally mounted to the printer, and is moveable to open and close. A scanner lid is pivotally mounted to the scanner, and is moveable to open and close. A printer locking member and a scanner locking member are pivotally mounted to the scanner. Opening the scanner lid causes the printer locking member to pivot to lock the scanner to the printer. Opening the printer lid causes the scanner locking member to pivot to lock the scanner lid to the scanner. A scanner having a lid is pivotally mounted on a printer. When the lid is pivoted to open, a stopper may pivot together with the lid and abut the scanner, thereby stopping the lid. The stopper may pivot together with the lid and the scanner and abuts the printer, stopping the lid and the scanner.

Multifunction apparatus

A component fixing device includes a holding portion for holding a component with a hollow portion while restricting a movement of the component; and a fixed portion elastically connected to the holding portion and to be fixed to an object. The holding portion is inserted into the hollow portion of the component for holding the component. The holding portion may have a center holding portion abutting against an outer surface of the component and a pair of arm portions disposed at both sides of the center holding portion and capable of bending relative to the center holding portion, so that the center holding portion and the arm portions sandwich the component.

An image reading apparatus reads an image of a document. An image reading section reads an image of a document. A scanning mechanism causes the image reading section to move relative to the document when the document is at rest. When the image reading section is at rest, a document feeding mechanism causes the document to move relative to the image reading section. A shutter moves to a first position where the shutter opens, allowing the image reading section to read the image of the document when the document moves relative to the image reading section at rest. The shutter moves to a second position where the shutter closes, allowing the image reading section to read the image of the document when the image reading section moves relative to the document at rest.

Electrical device having component fixing device

An image-forming apparatus comprises a stationary main body, a lid assembly, an exposing unit, and a guide mechanism. The stationary main body accommodates a print process cartridge therein. The main body has an opening that opens upward of the image-forming apparatus. The lid assembly is rotatably supported on the stationary main body so that the lid assembly is rotatable about an axis to open and close the opening. The exposing unit is mounted to an inner side of the lid assembly and extends parallel to the axis. The exposing assembly moves into mating engagement with the print process cartridge when the lid assembly has completely closed the opening. The guide mechanism guides the exposing unit into mating engagement with the print process cartridge when the lid assembly is rotated to close the stationary main body.
