There are provided a surgical jig () which is directly used during surgery to make it possible to accurately recognize a position where a recess () is to be formed in the surface of a surgical target bone () of a patient; and a verification jig () which is directly used during surgery to make it possible to precisely verify whether or not the recess () formed in the surface of the surgical targeted bone () of the patient is of a required shape. The surgical jig () has an inner surface () matching the surface shape of the surgical target bone () of the patient, and a penetrating opening () formed in correspondence with a site where the recess () is to be formed. The verification jig () has a protrusion () protruding from an inner surface () thereof in correspondence with the recess () to be formed.

A bone fixing screw template is a combination of: a template body (A) integrally constituted by a fitting section (), which has an inner surface joining and fitting face-to-face to a three-dimensional-shaped surface of a bone region, and a cylindrical spacer tube guide cylinder () protruding while being pointed in a direction coaxial with the direction of insertion of the fitting section and a medical screw; and a cylindrical spacer tube (B) sliding in contact with the inner wall of the cylindrical spacer tube guide cylinder (), the inner diameter of the cylindrical spacer tube (B) being formed to allow a drill to be slidable in the cylindrical spacer tube (B). By using the template, surgery requiring proficiency in fixing the bone region by tightening medical screws can be performed reliably and easily.

Disclosed is an instrument for treating a patient with semicircular canal injury, which is an instrument in the form of an exact enlarged model of human three semicircular canals having a structure wherein a liquid and a plurality of otolithic models, having a specific gravity larger than the specific gravity of said liquid, are enclosed within a hollow annular member made of a transparent resin and equipped with a screen at the position corresponding to the cupula in each of the three semicircular canals. Therein, said screen has such a mesh size as allowing the passage of said liquid but not allowing the passage of the otolithic models. Thus, an instrument for treating a patient with semicircular canal injury, whereby physical and mental pains can be alleviated in treating a patient with semicircular canal injury such as benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, is provided.

Provided are: a screw guide template, screw guide template system, and drilling method whereby a hole can be drilled in an accurate position of a member to be drilled, in an accurate direction; and a spinal fixation method whereby a spinal fixation screw can be inserted into an accurate position in an accurate direction. The screw guide template () comprises: a close-contact face () to be closely contacted to the member; and a through hole () having one opening () on the close-contact face; the close-contact face has a shape in male-female relation with a surface shape () of the member including a portion () to be drilled; and when the close-contact face is closely contacted to the portion to be drilled, the opening and portion to be drilled overlap each other so that the through hole is coaxial with the hole to be drilled by the drilling means.

A method of producing a flexible vessel model for simulating a surgical operation, which is a three-dimensional model being capable of reproducing an aneurysm or narrowing occurring in the artery or vein based on CT/MRI image data of a patient obtained in practice and thus allowing vascular therapy trainings and preoperative simulations, with the use of a precise lamination modeling machine, wherein a vascular model having an affected part is fabricated by using a lamination technique together with a supporting material for sustaining the shape of the three-dimensional model during the fabrication in the precise lamination modeling machine and, after the completion of the fabrication by the lamination machine technique, the supporting material is removed. Thus, it is possible to provide a three-dimensional vascular model whereby the shape of an aneurysm or narrowing occurring in the artery or vein, which is to be used in preoperative simulation of vascular therapy for the artery or vein, can be reproduced with the use of a flexible polymer model and thus vascular therapy trainings and preoperative simulation can be carried out by using the same.

Method of producing flexible vessel model for simulating surgical operation

A process for producing an artificial bone model in accordance with the selective laser sintering process which comprises extending a powder material for sintering comprising 30 to 90 parts by weight of powder of a synthetic resin and 10 to 70% by weight of an inorganic filler to form a thin layer and irradiating a portion of the thin layer having the shape formed based on tomograpic information of a natural bone with laser light so that the irradiated portion of the thin layer is sintered. The extension of the powder material for sintering to form the thin layer and the irradiation of the thin layer with laser light for sintering are conducted repeatedly. The artificial bone model can three-dimensionally reproduce steric shapes of natural bones such as bones in the human body precisely and accurately and exhibits the property for cutting closely similar to that of natural bones. The artificial bone model can be used for educational training or for studying a plan for curing before a surgical operation.
