An apparatus for controlling a load handling device of an industrial vehicle is provided. The load handling device includes a mast assembly and a load handling attachment attached to the mast assembly. The apparatus includes a tilt angle detector that detects a tilt angle of the mast assembly, a controller that regulates a lifting speed of the load handling attachment, and a determination device that determines whether or not the load handling attachment is being lifted off the ground. When the determination device determines that the load handling attachment is being lifted off the ground, the controller permits the load handling attachment to be lifted at a speed faster than the regulated lifting speed.

An apparatus for controlling a load handling device of an industrial vehicle includes a lifted height detector that detects a lifted height of the load handling device, a tilt angle detector that detects a tilt angle of the load handling device, a loading pump that pumps hydraulic oil from a hydraulic tank in the industrial vehicle and supplies the hydraulic oil to a lift cylinder and a tilt cylinder, a drive that drives the loading pump, and a controller that controls the flow rate of hydraulic oil supplied to the lift cylinder and the tilt cylinder. When the forward tilt angle of the load handling device is greater than a first regulation tilt angle and a lifted height of the load handling device is higher than a predetermined reference height, the controller regulates the flow rate of hydraulic oil supplied to the lift cylinder.

A load weight measuring device for a multi-stage mast forklift truck has a mast assembly, an oil passage, a flow regulator valve, a pressure sensor, a detecting device, a memory, a selector, and a calculator. The mast assembly has a lift bracket for receiving a load weight, a multi-stage mast unit having masts, and a multi-stage lift cylinder unit having lift cylinders each having an oil chamber for raising the lift bracket along the masts. Hydraulic oil flows in the oil passage. The pressure sensor detects a pressure of hydraulic oil and outputs a pressure signal. The detecting device detects a state which stage of the lift cylinder raises the lift bracket and outputs a detection signal. The memory stores predetermined parameters from which the selector selects the parameter based on the detection signal. The calculator calculates the load weight based on the selected parameter and the pressure signal.

A travel control apparatus for a forklift is disclosed. The forklift is provided with a loading device that performs load handling operations by raising and lowering a load, and a drive motor which generates a drive force for travel and is capable of generating a braking force. The apparatus is provided with a sensor for detecting the speed of the motor, a seat switch, a height switch, a load sensor, and a control section. The control section causes the drive motor to generate a braking force when the seat switch detects that the driver has left the seat in the case where the motor speed sensor detects a traveling state, and also changes the strength of the braking in accordance with the height of the loading device and the weight of the load.

The traveling operation corresponds to operator operation that involves traveling of an industrial vehicle. A drive control apparatus for a forklift. Based on the load state, it is determined whether to limit a maximum vehicle speed and an acceleration/deceleration during traveling of the forklift. Limitation contents regarding the maximum vehicle speed and the acceleration/deceleration is determined based on a determination result of whether to put the limitations. A speed of the engine is adjusted based on the determined limitation contents, thereby controlling driving of the forklift. When the determined limitation contents are changed, an acceleration/deceleration limitation value is selected from a plurality of acceleration/deceleration limitation values according to the pattern of the change of the limitation contents, and drive control related to the acceleration/deceleration is executed to limit the acceleration/deceleration of the forklift by using the selected acceleration/deceleration limitation value.

A load determining section of a drive control apparatus for forklift determines a load state related to a loading attachment. In a case where a connection determining section determines switching to a connection state, if the load state determined by the load determining section requires that driving of a vehicle body be limited, a disconnection control section forcibly disconnects a transmission of a driving force to a drive wheel. Thus, the forklift is prevented from being started in a state that is likely to make the driving of the forklift unstable.

When a determination result of a limitation determining section during a driving of a forklift is positive, a control section limits a vehicle speed and adjusts an engine speed. If a limitation canceling condition is met while the vehicle speed is limited, a control section cancels a vehicle speed limitation state, and executes a loading priority control in which an actuation of a loading device is prioritized. Thus, when a loading device is actuated during driving with a speed limit, the stability of the forklift is ensured while improving the workability of the loading operation.
