A machining system is provided with a machine tool including a securing device for securing a workpiece, a robot for attaching the workpiece to the securing device, a hand attached to a tip end of an arm of the robot, and a control device for controlling the machine tool, the robot, and the hand. The securing device includes holding members for holding a workpiece, and holding member drive motors for moving the holding members.

An object is to exhibit a higher sealing performance against an external pressure, to more reliably prevent breakage of a sealed state established by an inner seal member, and to maintain the soundness of inner mechanical components. Provided is a joint structure including two joint members, a driving mechanism that rotationally drives the two joint members about a predetermined axis relative to each other, two seal members forming a seal between the joint members at positions doubly surrounding the outside of a lubricant storing part in the driving mechanism, and a pressure-applying means that makes the air pressure in a space provided between the two seal members, higher than the pressure of the outside air.

A parallel link robot () provided with a base (), a moving part (), three links (to) coupling the base and the moving part and having respectively single degrees of freedom with respect to the base, and three actuators (to) respectively driving the links, each of the links comprised of a drive link (to) coupled with the base and two driven links (toto) coupling the drive link and the moving part and parallel to each other, and further provided with a posture changing mechanism () which changes a posture of an element () attached to the moving part, an additional actuator (to) arranged between the two driven links of at least one link in parallel to these driven links, and a power transmission shaft () which extends coaxially from the additional actuator and transmits rotational drive force to the posture changing mechanism. Due to this, it is possible to increase the degrees of freedom without reducing the possible region of operation and the acceleration/deceleration performance.

Parallel link robot

A sealing device provided to a joint section of a robot. The sealing device includes overlapped seal portions having a multi-stage configuration, provided for a driving mechanism incorporated into the joint section. The overlapped seal portions include a first seal portion including a first contact seal element sealing a first inter-member gap defined adjacent to a lubricant retaining section provided in the driving mechanism; and a second seal portion arranged outside the first seal portion and including a second contact seal element sealing a second inter-member gap defined in a circumferential wall of the joint section, the circumferential wall defining an accommodation space for accommodating the driving mechanism.

An industrial robot () comprising three power transmission units () arranged concentrically and three drive means for driving the three power transmission units, respectively, is disclosed. The drive means for at least one of the three power transmission units includes two motors (). Also, all of the three power transmission units and the three drive means are desirably built into the base () of the industrial robot. This configuration makes it possible to have high-duty operation with a comparatively compact structure.

A robot provided with a robot mechanism including a first member and a second member, the first member and the second member being movable relative to each other; and a laying structure for laying an umbilical member in the robot mechanism. The robot includes the umbilical member laid to extend between the first member and the second member; a movable clamp member movably provided in the first member to clamp the umbilical member; and a connecting member for connecting the movable clamp member to the second member in a correlatively movable manner. The connecting member transmits a force generating due to a movement of the second member relative to the first member to the movable clamp member, so as to move the clamp member in the first member.
