The present invention provides a method for forming a liquid crystal display comprising: providing a liquid crystal display substrate; and forming a light-shielding film for a display on the liquid crystal display substrate by coating the liquid crystal display substrate with a coating liquid containing a binder and fine metal particles, such as fine silver particles, dispersed in the binder, and optionally a dispersant by use of a spin coat method, a curtain coat method, or an extrusion method, and drying the resultant layer, and optionally forming a protective layer on the layer and exposing the protective layer to light.

Method for forming liquid crystal display comprising manufacturing light-shielding film by applying coating liquid containing fine metal particles onto substrate and drying the same

The present invention provides a black matrix containing metal fine particles, wherein the volume fraction of the metal fine particles is in a range from 0.05 to 0.70. The volume fraction is preferably is in a range from 0.10 to 0.55, and more preferably in a range from 0.2 to 0.50. The invention also provides a method of manufacturing the black matrix. The method is preferably a method comprising: forming a recording material having a layer formed by applying and drying a coating liquid containing metal fine particles on a temporary support; and transferring the layer onto a substrate. Further, the invention also provides a method comprising the step of applying onto or above the substrate the coating liquid containing the metal fine particles and then drying the coating liquid. In each of the methods, the coating liquid can have photosensitivity.

Black matrix and method for manufacturing the same

A photosensitive transfer material including a temporary support, a thermoplastic resin layer, an intermediate layer, and a photosensitive recording layer. The thermoplastic resin layer, the intermediate layer and the photosensitive recording layer are provided in this order on the temporary support. The thermoplastic resin layer includes a thermoplastic resin and a polyester resin, and the polyester resin is contained in the thermoplastic resin layer in an amount of at least 20% by weight and no more than 90% by weight based on a total solid content of the thermoplastic resin layer.

Photosensitive transfer material

A recording material is provided with, on a support, at least a coloring layer containing a first coloring component which is substantially colorless and a second coloring component which is substantially colorless and is colored by reacting with the first coloring component, wherein the coloring layer contains a polyvinyl alcohol resin having syndiotacticity of greater than or equal to 55 molar % as diad indication and a saponification degree of greater than or equal to 85 molar %. There is also disclosed a recording material having a protective layer provided on the coloring layer of the aforementioned recording material, wherein the polyvinyl alcohol resin having syndiotacticity of greater than or equal to 55 molar % as diad indication and a saponification degree of greater than or equal to 85 molar % is contained in at least one of the coloring layer and the protective layer. In particular, a modified polyvinyl alcohol having an ethylene-modified rate of 20 molar % to 1 molar % and a saponification rate of greater than or equal to 85 molar % is suitable. The present recording materials have the excellent water resistance, resistance to chemicals, running properties and manufacturing applicability.

Recording material

An electrostatic recording film formed by laminating an insulating film with an electroconductive layer and a dielectric layer, respectively, in which the dielectric layer contains a combination of high polymer binders comprising (A) at least one polymer selected from halogenated polyolefins, polymers of halogenated olefins and copolymers of halogenated olefins and (B) at least one polyester, the weight ratio of (A)/(B) being from 2/98 to 20/80. The film gives a high quality image in rapid recording, even after stored for a long period of time, and the image fixability of the film is excellent.
