To reduce noise which leaks to the outside in an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus. An internal AC wiring unitis composed of internal AC wiring which is installed on the input side of a power source circuit, and a shield casewhich accommodates it. The internal AC wiring includes an inlet, a plurality of connectors, a relay substrate, and a plurality of internal AC cables. The internal AC wiring is protected from radiation noise which is generated in a casingby the shield case. Thereby, the noise which leaks to the outside via an external AC cable is reduced.

Ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus and shield structure

A lighting device according to the present invention includes: a curvedly shaped base chassis having a reflection layer on its inner surface; an optical sheet facing the reflection layer to output illuminating light of the lighting device; a light source group, disposed between the base chassis and the optical sheet, including first light sources and second light sources emitting light in mutually opposite directions; a light source substrate mounted with the light source group, and a light distribution adjusting member, covering the optical sheet side of the light source group, to direct light from the light source group into predetermined directions. The directions of light emission from the light source group are in parallel with the light output surface of the optical sheet. The reflection layer is curved such that a portion thereof on each of the two direction sides is concave away from the optical sheet.

Lighting device and image display device including the same

An area control section individually sets illumination intensity (light control value) of each backlight cell corresponding to each area of the display screen. A spatial filter corrects the light control values so that spatial distribution of the light control values becomes more moderate between adjoining areas. A black area control section sets the minimum value of the light control value based on a 'black area' in the screen. A power control section corrects the light control values so that power consumption of the backlight does not exceed a limit value. A shading control section corrects the light control values to relatively lower brightness in the peripheral part of the screen compared to the central part of the screen. A micro-controller switches the operations of the above light control value correcting sections according to an image display mode selected by the user.

Liquid crystal display device with backlight

The present invention enables a liquid crystal display device using LEDs as a light source to reduce uneven brightness, increase efficiency of heat discharged from the LEDs, and provide area brightness control. The liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal display panel and a backlight. The backlight includes a light guide panel and a plurality of LEDs arranged on a line. The light guide panel includes a concave portion extending in a longitudinal direction of the light guide panel. A large number of LEDs are placed in the concave portion of the light guide panel. The plurality of LEDs arranged on a line emit light alternately in opposite directions. This configuration allows for uniform brightness distribution without forming a large number of concave portions in the light guide panel. Further, this configuration also allows for area brightness control by controlling a large number of LEDs by group.

Liquid crystal display device

A cross section of each divided light guiding plate is formed in a wedge shape, a step is formed at a portion of each divided light guiding plate where LEDs are arranged, and holes used for accommodating the LEDs are formed at the step. A plated face is formed on a lower face of each LED, and is coupled to a wiring substrate through solder. Each LED includes a light-emitting face, a lower frame, and an upper frame. The height of the lower frame of each LED is larger than the height of the upper frame, so that a lower end of the light-emitting face of each LED can be always located higher than a lower end of the divided light guiding plate.

Liquid crystal display device, backlight and LED

A plurality of backlight blocks are aligned, each block includes light sources and a unit light guide plate for guiding light from the light sources to the side of a liquid crystal panel, unit diffusion patterns are formed in a zigzag alignment on the unit light guide plate and another diffusion pattern is formed on the back of the unit light guide plate. One side of the unit light guide plate is defined as a light entrance surface and LEDs as the light sources are aligned along the light entrance surface to satisfy p&#x2267;a&#x2267;c where a indicates the size of the unit diffusion pattern in a direction orthogonal to an exit optical axis of the LEDs, c indicates the size of an LED emission surface in the direction of alignment of the LEDs, and p indicates the pitch of alignment of the light sources.

Image display apparatus and backlight apparatus used therefor

In order to achieve a liquid crystal display device for TV with a reduced thickness, light weight, and uniform brightness, a liquid crystal display panel and a backlight are housed in a mold. In the backlight, light emitting diodes are provided in a frame-like flexible wiring substrate, in which plural the light emitting diodes are provided on each of four side surfaces of a light guide panel. A distance between the light emitting diodes in the central portion of each side of the light guide panel is small, while a distance in the corners of each side is large.

An LCD device using LEDs as light sources provided herein is capable of reducing the manufacturing cost and the power consumption by a reduction in the number of LEDs used. A backlight according to the present invention includes LEDs mounted on a wiring board and a light guide plate having a matrix array of light guide plate blocks assigned the LEDs. The number of LEDs assigned to the block located in a peripheral area is smaller than the number assigned to the block located around the center to reduce the number of LEDs used in the backlight. If a ratio of the brightness in a peripheral area of the screen to the brightness in a central area is 60% or higher, the human eye does not perceive non-uniform luminance. Thus, the manufacturing cost and the power consumption of the LCD device can be reduced.

It is an object of the present invention to provide an image display apparatus which enables cost reduction while being free from electromagnetic interference problems. A power supply circuit comprises, on a single circuit board, an AC inlet to which a power cord is connected from an external AC power supply, a filter circuit to which an inductance element is connected to suppress leakage of electromagnetic waves to the outside of the image display apparatus, and a switch which switches on/off an AC output supplied from the filter circuit. The circuit board of the power supply circuit is entirely covered by electromagnetic shielding means to shield electromagnetic waves. The electromagnetic shielding means is composed of, for example, a first shielding section which surrounds the lateral side of the circuit board and a second shielding section which covers the upper side of the circuit board. The second shielding section is formed of a part of the flat section of a rear cover of the image display apparatus.

Power supply circuit and image display apparatus using the same

A liquid crystal display device with improved thermal exhaustion property, enabling a thickness reduction, includes a backlight including light sources illuminating a liquid crystal panel from a back face, and a chassis holding the backlight. The backlight includes: plural light-source units each including a combination of a LED emitting light in a direction parallel to a display surface of the panel, a wiring board mounted with the LED, and a light-guide plate having translucency for guiding the LED light toward the panel; a metal chassis supporting the light-source units; and a thermally conductive sheet tightly inserted between the metal chassis and a reverse side of the wiring board opposite to the LED-mounted face. A wiring pattern is formed on the reverse side. The metal chassis and the wiring pattern located within a predetermined distance of the LED outer periphery are connected through the thermally conductive sheet.

A backlight unit of thin-type comprises: at least one or more light source(s); plural numbers of light guide plates, each of which is configured to guide and irradiate the light of the light source(s) to a side of a liquid crystal panel; and a chassis, on which the light source(s) and the light guide plates are fixed, thereby being constructed by aligning the light guide plates, wherein the following conditions are satisfied:mm&#x3e;h,&#xb0;&#x2266;&#x3b8;&#x2266;&#xb0; when assuming that a distance from an irradiation surface of the backlight unit to the light guide plate is 'h', and that an angle indicative of a half-value light intensity of a light emitting from a light emission surface of the light guide plate, thereby providing a video of high picture quality, and there is also provided a video display apparatus applying the same therein.

For improving a cooling efficiency of a display panel in a flat-type image display, various substrates and an image display element are disposed within a thin-sized housing thereof, including: a display panel; a chassis supporting the display panel from a rear surface side thereof; a front surface-side cover on a front side of the display panel; a rear surface-side cover on a rear side of the display panel; an image display element connected to the display panel; a display driver substrate connected to the display panel, and on a surface thereof opposite to the chassis are provided circuit parts; a power source substrate, supplying driving power to the display driver substrate and the image display element, and on a surface thereof opposite to the chassis are provided circuit parts thereof; and a first insulator board opposite to the display driver substrates and the power source substrate of the chassis.

Image display

The initial color temperature setting can change when a plasma display panel (PDP) is driven for a long period of time. One cause is due to the non-uniform deterioration of red, green, and blue fluorescent materials due to the ultraviolet rays discharged during operation of the panel. Color temperature correction is performed by setting the numbers of discharge pulses for fluorescent materials in accordance with a discharge pulse number correction curve with respect to the cumulative elapsed driven time of the PDP.

Plasma display device

The present invention improves the reliability of a display apparatus by suppressing the temperature rise of the display apparatus mounted on a wall. The display apparatus is provided with a wall mount switch to detect a wall mount member if the wall mount member is attached to the rear of the display apparatus. If it is detected by the wall mount switch that the display apparatus is mounted on a wall, the display power supplied to a display unit is set lower than normal by a power controller. This suppresses the temperature rise of the apparatus mounted on a wall.

Display apparatus

There is provided an image display device which can control image retention-preventing means in a static image displaying part, according to a change with the passage of time in a luminance difference. The drive of the image retention-preventing means is cancelled when accumulated elapsed-time during which the luminance difference is returned to approximately an original value elapses.
