Switches for a variety of circuits for different purposes are formed by using a plurality of similarly designed contact modules each having a module case incorporating a normally closed or normally open contact mechanism and a plunger for operating this contact mechanism, a single actuator having two end parts and being biased so as to rotate around a supporting axis between these contact modules, this actuator undergoing a rotary motion if a force is applied to one of its end parts so as to operate the plunger of an associated one of the contact modules with at least one of the end parts, a switch case that contains the contact modules and the actuator, and a push button for applying a force on one of the end parts of the actuator from outside the switch case.

Switch with a plurality of contact modules

A key switch has a switch part and an operating part. The switch part is activated to switch contact points as an operating key is inserted. The operating part includes a driver cam that rotates as it is pushed by the operating key and to activate the switch part and a plurality of lock cams configured to directly lock the driver cam in a normal condition when the operating key is pulled out of the operating part and to rotate as it is pushed by the operating key so as to release the driver cam from its locked condition. The key switch may further include lock cam holder for holding the lock cams in the normal condition when the operating key is pulled out.

Key switch

In order to perform maintenance of a working robot, a worker pulls a handle of a slider and moves the slider backward to thereby withdraw a slider fitting portion from a fitting hole portion and withdraw an actuator from an operating portion of a door switch. In this case, a key inserted into a key hole of a lock is rotated through 90&#xb0; to vertically orient an interference protruding portion to thereby prevent fitting of the slider fitting portion into the fitting hole portion. Only in this state, the key can be withdrawn from the key hole of the lock.

Safety switch

A base head member has a cam body receiving portion in a center portion thereof, bridge portions are provided in both sides of the cam body receiving portion, a shaft bearing portion is provided in both the bridge portions, and the cam body is held in the base head member by receiving the cam body in the cam body receiving portion and bearing a cam shaft to the shaft bearing portion, and a contact portion is formed in right and left sides of a front face (a direction of pulling out an operation key) in a lower portion (a base portion) of a base main body, whereby the structure is made such as to receive a load applied to the cam shaft by a case from the contact portion.

A switch includes a switching mechanism, an operating mechanism with a key which normally causes the switching mechanism to be in a switched-off condition when it is pulled out and to be displaced against a biasing force to be in a switched-on condition when the key is inserted, and a locking mechanism for maintaining the switching mechanism locked in the switched-on condition and releasing it from the locked condition if a load greater than a specified magnitude is applied to the key while the switching mechanism is locked such that the switching mechanism is set back in the switched-off condition. The switching mechanism may be contained in a head case attached to a main case containing the operating mechanism. The main case also includes a forcing mechanism which tends to force the switching mechanism in the switched-off condition. Normally when the head case is attached to the main case, the forcing mechanism is released from its forcing function but when the head case is removed from the main case, the forcing mechanism functions to displace the switching mechanism into the switched-off condition.

Door switches

A limit switch has switch areas and a partition wall in between in a switch case for containing switch element units separately and independently. An inner case includes covers for sealing the switch areas. For improving rigidity, a switch unit and a head unit which operates the switch unit are connected by means of a protrusion on one of them and an indentation on the other of them, the protrusion and the indentation being engaged in an embracing fashion for strength.

Limit switches

A door switch disclosed includes a switch body and a key unit which are attached to a structure and a door, respectively. The switch body is provided with a door key insertion hole and a switch contact. The key unit has a door key and a door key drive mechanism in its unit case. The door key drive mechanism retreats the door key into the unit case when the door is opened and protrudes it out from the unit case when the door is closed, to thereby insert the door key into the door key insertion hole in the switch body, thus turning ON the switch contact.
