A magnetic particle producing part including magnetic and counterpart members in a path of a particle-includable liquid, at least one of the members being moved to press the other member in the liquid, the magnetic member being worn by particles in the liquid to produce magnetic particles; a magnetic particle measuring part positioned in the path same as in the producing part to measure the magnetic particle concentration in the liquid; and a control part converting the concentration of the magnetic particles detected by the measuring part into a concentration of particles in the liquid on the basis of a calibration line representing a correlation preliminarily measured between the concentrations of the magnetic particles and of the particles in the liquid to detect the concentration in the liquid.

Method for detecting concentration of particles and device therefor

Magnetic and counterpart members are immersed in a liquid which may include hard particles. At least one of the members is moved while pressed to the other member. The magnetic member is worn by hard particles in the liquid to produce magnetic particles in the liquid. A concentration of the magnetic particles produced is measured and is converted into a concentration of hard particles in the liquid on the basis of a calibration line representing a correlation measured in advance between the concentrations of the magnetic particles and of the hard particles in the liquid. Thus, the concentration of the hard particles in the liquid is detected.

Hard particle concentration detecting method

A mold having a shell and a porous layer formed on the surface of the cavity of the shell. The mold can be suitably used for manufacturing a porous body having a porous layer on the surface thereof. The method for manufacturing the mold, includes the steps of forming a layer of combustible powdery particles around a wax mold, which is a lost pattern, a step of forming a film of a ceramic precursor slurry around the wax mold having powdery particles formed thereon, a step of subjecting the resultant product to a heat treatment, to thereby dewax the wax mold, and a step of firing the slurry film, to thereby burn and vanish the powdery particles in the slurry film and form a shell.

A method for manufacturing a mold (), which comprises a step of forming a layer () of combustible powdery particles () around a wax mold (), which is a lost pattern, a step of forming a film () of a ceramic precursor slurry () around the wax mold () having powdery particles () formed thereon, a step of subjecting the resultant product to a heat treatment, to thereby dewax the wax mold (), and a step of firing the slurry film (), to thereby burn and vanish the powdery particles () in the slurry film () and form a shell (). The mold () has the shell () and a porous layer () formed on the surface () of the cavity of the shell. The mold can be suitably used for manufacturing a porous body () having a porous layer () on the surface thereof.
