A flame-retarded polyamide composition comprising a polyamide and a triazine addition compound consisting essentially of one mole of a triazine derivative having the formula (I): ##STR1## in which R is divalent hydrocarbon residue containing 1-12 carbon atoms, and one or two moles of one or two compounds selected from the group consisting of cyanuric acid and isocyanuric acid.

Novel triazine addition compounds

A triazine addition compound consisting essentially of one mole of a triazine derivative having the formula (I): ##STR1## in which R is a divalent hydrocarbon residue containing 1-12 carbon atoms, and one or two moles of at least one compound selected from the group consisting of cyanuric acid and isocyanuric acid. Processes of the preparation of the addition compound and a flame-retarded polyamide composition are also disclosed.
