Embodiments of present invention may include a cushion pad for supporting a seated passenger; the cushion pad being divided into a left pad section, a middle pad section and a right pad section; a soft resin foam dispersed throughout the left pad section, the middle pad section and the right pad section; the left pad section having a left holding volume for holding a first volume of an elastic three-dimensional fibrous network and the soft resin foam; the right pad section having a right holding volume for holding a second volume of an elastic three-dimensional fibrous network and the soft resin foam; and the middle pad section not having a volume of an elastic three-dimensional fibrous network contained within.

Cushion pad for car seat

In a reclining device, a pawl is guided by guide walls formed in a guide while both of side portions thereof are applied thereto, so as to be movable only radially inwards and outwards. The pawl is divided into two divisional pawls configured to obliquely contact with each other, so as to be pressed and moved away from each other in opposite lateral directions and to be pressed against the guide walls positioned in respective lateral directions when the pawl is pressed and moved in the advancing direction by the pressing cam. A division line is set to form inclined surfaces that are configured to bring the two divisional pawls into face contact with each other obliquely with respect to the advancing moving direction of the pawl, and vertical surfaces that are configured to bring the two divisional pawls into face contact with each other in a direction perpendicular to the pawl advancing moving direction.

Locking device

A pivotal device of a vehicle seat includes ratchet and guide mounted together to be rotatable relative to each other, and pawls supported by the guide in its circumferential direction and having external teeth adapted to mesh with internal teeth of the ratchet when an operating cam pushes the pawls radially outward, so as to inhibit relative rotation of the ratchet and the guide. One of the pawls is divided obliquely into two parts in the circumferential direction, and is pushed radially outward to mesh with the ratchet while increasing its width and eliminating clearances between the pawl and the guide. The rotating cam rides on a protrusion formed on the guide during rotation thereof, so as to largely push the pawls and press the ratchet radially against the guide.

Pivotal device of vehicle seat

A connecting apparatus of the present invention includes an inner teeth member with inner teeth, a guide member with a rotation support portion rotatably supporting an outer peripheral surface of the inner teeth member, a first and second teeth member movably mounted on the guide member, and a switching member capable of switching a lock state and an unlock state by moving the first and second outer teeth members. Further the connecting apparatus includes a backlash preventing mechanism capable of preventing a backlash of the inner teeth member with respect to the guide member by the switching member pushing the inner teeth member () to the rotation support portion of the guide member. Space is formed between outer teeth of the second outer teeth member and the inner teeth of the inner teeth member. The space permits them to mesh with each other, and forms clearance between them in a radial direction.

Connecting apparatuses

A connector for a vehicle seat includes a ratchet, a guide, and engagement pieces. The engagement pieces are supported so as to be movable only in the radial direction of the guide, and prevent relative rotation between the ratchet and the guide when engaged with an inner peripheral toothed face of the ratchet. The inner peripheral toothed face is formed in the inner peripheral face of an annular wall that extends from the outer peripheral portion of a disc portion of the ratchet in its axial direction. The inner peripheral face is in contact with and supported by outer peripheral faces of guide walls that project in the axial direction from the inner disc face of the guide. Thus, the ratchet and the guide are coaxially fitted together so as to be rotatable relative to each other.

Connector for vehicle seat

A coupling device of a vehicle seat includes disc-shaped first and second coupling members; at least two lock member; and guide portions that guide the lock members. The guide portions are disposed on sides of each lock member. When the lock members are pushed outwardly in the radial direction so that external teeth of each lock member are engaged with internal of the second coupling member, the lock member is inclined with respect to the corresponding guide portions, and a portion of each side surface of the lock member contacts the side surface of the corresponding guide portion. At this time, one of the lock members is rotated in a rotational direction opposite to a rotational direction in which the other lock member is rotated.

Coupling device of vehicle seat

One aspect of the present invention can include a connecting apparatus for rotatably connecting a first and second object member of a vehicular seat relative to each other having a first and second connecting member and a holding member. The first and second connecting member are integrated in a direction of matching disks thereof to be able to rotate relative to each other. The first connecting member is integrally attached to the first object member. The second connecting member is integrally attached to the second object member. The holding member straddles outer peripheral surfaces of the first and second connecting member to hold the connecting members in a plate thickness direction. The holding member is provided with an opening portion. The first connecting member is provided with a protruding portion. The protruding portion extends through the opening portion in a radial direction, and the protruding portion is attached to the first object member.

Connecting apparatuses for vehicular seats

The present invention provides a vehicle seat capable of performing a tilt-down operation in which a seat back is widely tilted forwardly to be folded on a seat cushion while a seat cushion is moved forwardly and a walk-in operation in which the seat back is half tilted forwardly over a desired angle while the seat is slid forwardly via a slide rail. The seat includes a frame member that is capable of longitudinally sliding via the slide rail and that supports the seat back via a reclining device so as to tilt the seat back back and forth, a front link connecting the seat cushion to the frame member so as to allow the seat cushion to move longitudinally, and an interlock mechanism that can be controlled so as to move or to not move the seat cushion forwardly with respect to the frame member when the seat back is tilted forwardly. At the time of the tilt-down operation, the interlock mechanism is controlled so as to move the seat cushion forwardly when the seat back is tilted forwardly. At the time of the walk-in operation, the interlock mechanism is controlled so as to not move the seat cushion forwardly when the seat back is tilted forwardly.

Vehicle seat

A connecting device may include first and second connecting elements that are axially oppositely coupled to each other so as to be rotatable relative to each other, a locking member that is positioned between the first and second connecting elements, an operating member that is positioned between the first and second connecting elements, and a retainer member that is arranged and constructed to circumferentially clamp the first and second connecting elements. The retainer member has a retainer portion and is fixed to the first connecting element while the second connecting element is axially supported by the retainer portion of the retainer member.

Connection devices in vehicle seats

A connecting apparatus for rotatably connecting two object members of a vehicle seat relative to each other. The connecting apparatus may include first and second connecting members, a lock member and an operating member. The first and second connecting members are integrated to be able to rotate relative to each other. The lock member is able to lock the relative rotation between the connecting members by meshing outer peripheral teeth with inner peripheral teeth formed at the second connecting member. The operating member moves the lock member between a mesh state and a release state.

A reclining device of a vehicle seat including a ratchet, a guide, three pawls and a rotating cam. Three spacing distances are defined due to such positioning of the three pawls, and one of the spacing distances is determined so as to be greater than the remaining two spacing distances. A non-toothed raised flat portion is formed in a portion of an inner circumferential surface of an inner toothed portion of the ratchet at a single site in a circumferential direction thereof. The raised flat portion is protruded radially inwardly beyond tips of inner teeth. The smaller remaining two spacing distances are determined so as to be smaller than a circumferential length of the raised flat portion.

Rotation lock device

A reclining mechanism may have a construction in which a plurality of pawls are received in a pair of housings that are relatively rotatably connected to each other, each of these pawls being prevented from rotating relative to one of the housings and being engageable with a ratchet formed in the other of the housings, each of the pawls being moved by a spring force from a free position in which the relative rotation of the housings is permitted to a locking position in which the relative rotation of the housings is prevented by virtue of engagement of each of the pawls and the ratchet, wherein at least one of the pawls is moved prior to the other of the pawls when each of the pawls moves from the free position to the locking position.

Reclining device and method of locking the device

Seat reclining mechanisms for a vehicle seat may include a first or stationary housing, a second or rotational housing, a locking means received between the first and second housings, and a fastener for rotatably connecting the second housing to the first housing. The fastener is formed with at least one retainer portion and at least one slide portion that respectively project toward the second housing. Preferably, the at least one slide portion has a height greater than the at least one retainer portion.

Seat reclining mechanisms

It is possible to set a free zone and use a greater number of pawls in a reclining device having a plurality of pawls even if an angular range where a certain pawl is out of mesh with a ratchet and an angular range where pawls adjacent to that pawl are in mesh with the ratchet overlap with each other in a plan view, by bringing the other pawls out of mesh through an operation of bringing one specific pawl out of mesh. An unlock plate holds at least one pawl in retreat from the ratchet while a stationary disc holding the pawls and a movable disc having the ratchet form a relative rotational angle within a predetermined range. By holding the other pawls out of mesh through retreat of the pawl from the ratchet, an angular range for the operation of bringing one of the pawls Out of mesh with the ratchet by means of the unlock plate, and an angular range for the operation where the adjacent pawls are brought into mesh with the ratchet are so set as to overlap with each other in a plan view.

Reclining device for a seat

A seat reclining mechanism for a vehicle seat may includes a plurality of slide pawls each having an outward toothed portion and a side surface, a ratchet having an inward circular toothed portion, and a holder having a plurality of guide portions each of which is formed with a torque receiving portion. The seat reclining mechanism further includes a cam member pushing the slide pawls toward the inward toothed portion of the ratchet, and at least one contact projection formed in the torque receiving wall of the torque receiving portion and projecting toward the slide pawl side surface. The contact projection is arranged and constructed such that it is deformed to eliminate variations among clearances formed between the slide pawls and the torque receiving portions when a torque is exerted between the ratchet and the holder, so that the torque is evenly distributed among the slide pawls.
