A laser build-up method according to an embodiment includes the processes of: forming an annular counter sunk groovein an edge of an opening of a port on a side of a combustion chamber; and irradiating a laser beamwhile a metallic powderis being supplied to the counter sunk grooveand successively forming a cladding layerfor a valve seat, in which: the cladding layeris formed while a seal gasis being sprayed onto a melt pool, the cladding layerincludes a starting end part, a part formed just after the starting end part is formed, an intermediate part, a part formed just before a terminating end part is formed, and a terminating end part, which are formed in this order.

Laser build-up method

A method of determining a quality of a cladding layer according to one aspect of the present invention is a method of determining a quality of a cladding layerformed by irradiating a laser beamwhile a metallic powderis being supplied, the method including: a process of capturing an image of a melt pooland an area around thereof while the cladding layeris being formed; a process of measuring the sizes and the number of ball-shaped metallic powder aggregates absorbed in the melt poolfrom the image that has been captured; and a process of determining the quality of the cladding layerbased on the sizes and the number that have been measured.

Method of determining quality of cladding layer and laser build-up apparatus

The first embodiment of the invention is a spot welding method using a welding gun including a pair of electrodes holding and welding a welding point of a workpiece. The method including: transmitting an ultrasonic from one of the electrode pair to the workpiece with the electrode pair holding the workpiece; receiving the ultrasonic at the other electrode passed through the electrode pair and the workpiece; and detecting a holding state of the workpiece on the basis of an amplitude of the received ultrasonic. According to the embodiments of the invention, the welding gun can hold the workpiece at the proper position and with the correct angle, thereby reducing the welding flaws.

Spot welding apparatus and spot welding method

An evaporated fuel treating device lowers the blow-by volume of evaporated fuel emitted to the atmosphere via a casing having an atmospheric port. The casing has in series a first adsorbent chamber housing an adsorbent material, a space chamber not housing an adsorbent material and a second adsorbent chamber housing an adsorbent material. Each of the chambers is positioned beside an adjacent chamber thereof. The first chamber is disposed closest to the atmospheric port among the adsorbent chambers. An end part of the space chamber on a side of the first chamber has a first partition wall having an opening part with a plurality of first openings provided on a top side of the first partition wall. A current plate has one end positioned between the adjacent first openings and a surface and a rear face of the current plate are disposed along the top and bottom direction.

Exemplary embodiments provide a resistance welding method capable of stabilizing quality or improving efficiency of resistance welding such as spot welding. This resistance welding method comprises a calculating step of calculating resistance ratio X of a second electric resistance value Rof workpieces to be joined in residual heat after Joule heating stops to a first electric resistance value Rof the workpieces immediately before the Joule heating stops or vice versa (R/Ror R/R); a determining step of determining whether the resistance ratio X is equal to or greater than a threshold value Xn, and a reheating step of carrying out the Joule heating again when the resistance ratio X is smaller than the threshold value Xn. Thereby at least part of a welding portion is melted and solidified to reliably form a nugget, and a stably resistance-welded member can be provided.

Resistance welding method, resistance welder, and method and device for evaluating resistance welding

A fuel vapor processor has a fuel tank, a canister, a vapor pipe, a recovery pipe, an air pipe, a suction device, a vapor pipe valve, an air pipe valve, and a pressure regulator. The vapor pipe leads fuel vapor generated in the fuel tank to the canister for trapping the fuel vapor in the canister. The recovery pipe recoveries the fuel vapor desorbed from the canister into the fuel tank. The air pipe communicates the canister with the atmosphere. The suction device is disposed on the recovery pipe for desorbing the fuel vapor trapped in the canister. The pressure regulator is communicated with the air pipe between the air pipe valve and the canister in order to allow gas flow from the atmosphere toward the canister. During desorption of the fuel vapor due to the suction device, the vapor pipe valve and the air pipe valve are closed, and negative pressure is kept in the canister such that the fuel vapor is desorbed from the canister and fresh air is led into the canister via the pressure regulator.

Fuel vapor processors

A fuel injection controller for an internal combustion engine. The engine includes a fuel vapor treatment device having a collector for collecting fuel vapor generating in a fuel tank; a purge line that introduces purge gas into an intake passage of the engine, the purge gas being a mixture of fuel vapor released from the collector and air; and a purge valve provided in the purge line to adjust flow rate of the purge gas. The fuel injection controller corrects an amount of fuel injected from an fuel injection valve based on an amount of fuel vapor contained in the purge gas flowing into a combustion chamber of the engine. The fuel injection controller comprises an estimation section for estimating the inflow amount of the purge gas flowing into the combustion chamber based on a passed amount of purge gas that has passed through the purge valve and a compensation value for compensating transportation delay. The compensation value is set based on internal pressure of the intake passage and velocity of intake air that flows into the combustion chamber.
