A liquid crystal display according to the present invention includes a liquid crystal panel, an LED light source to irradiate a back surface side of the liquid crystal panel with light, a diffusion plate disposed between the liquid crystal panel and the LED light source, a reflection sheet disposed on a side opposite to the diffusion plate with respect to the LED light source, a panel holder disposed on a back surface side of the reflection sheet, and at least one photodetector disposed on the back surface side of the reflection sheet and to detect light reflected by a back surface of the diffusion plate and propagated in a gap between the reflection sheet and the panel holder.

A color calibration system in accordance with a preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a display device provided with a color sensor for detecting a color temperature and illuminance of ambient light, a microcomputer, and a colorimeter for performing colorimetry on a display screen of the display device from the outside. The microcomputer calculates a target value by using a preset calculation equation and a detection result on the ambient light detected by the color sensor. Then, the microcomputer automatically performs color calibration of the display device so that a colorimetry result obtained by the colorimeter may agree with the target value.

The present invention provides a liquid crystal display device capable of shortening the time required for stabilizing the brightness and the chromaticity to the temperature change. A receiver receives differential analog video signals from a long distance transmission line and converts them into unbalanced analog video signals to output to an analog video signal line that is internal wiring. A frequency response characteristics corrector inside the receiver corrects the frequency response characteristics attenuated mainly by the long distance transmission line, and a delay corrector corrects differences of propagation delay. A transmitter receives the unbalanced analog video signals form the analog video signal line and converts them into balanced differential analog video signals to transmit to a long distance transmission line as differential analog video signals. A video output circuit outputs the unbalanced analog video signals or unbalanced digital video signals to a video signal line as unbalanced video signals.

An external magnetic field correction device capable of preventing malfunctions of the external magnetic field correction device due to operation of a degaussing circuit by judging that an abnormality has occurred when an output of an external magnetic field detector is not less than a predetermined value and interrupting offset adjustment process accordingly, and that is capable of limiting irregularities of offset current in operational current of the magnetic field correction device to predetermined value or less by adjusting an offset value as to make correction current to be supplied to an external magnetic field correction coil when an external magnetic field around a CRT is zero to a regular value or less.

A computer system executing a degaussing operation of a display monitor, an input-prohibiting/permitting operation of a display-adjusting key and a shifting operation to a waiting state is provided. In the computer system of the present invention, indicating signals indicating the degaussing operation of the display monitor, the input-prohibiting/permitting operation of the display-adjusting key and the shifting operation to the waiting state are transmitted from the host computer through a communicating means by means of the manipulation of the keyboard and the like. Then the display monitor executes each operation mentioned above on the basis of the indicating signals. Accordingly, in the computer system of the present invention, each operation described above can be easily executed by means of manipulations of a manipulation-inputting means such as a keyboard and the like connected to the host computer at the hands of an operator.

An oscillation frequency control circuit which, while activating normal operation mode, initially computes a frequency control data corresponding to horizontal synchronizing signal by applying an interpolation on the basis of the frequency control data read from a memory and the frequency of horizontal synchronizing signal supplied to a display unit, and then, based on the computed result, automatically and internally controls the oscillation frequency of a horizontal oscillation circuit in accordance with the frequency of input horizontal synchronizing signal. On the other hand, when activating corrective operation mode, the control circuit initially detects the frequency of flyback pulse of a horizontal deflection circuit at the moment of supplying the frequency control data corresponding to the frequency of certain horizontal synchronizing signal to the horizontal oscillation circuit, and then automatically corrects the frequency control data in order that the difference between the detected result and the frequency of certain horizontal synchronizing signal can constantly be suppressed below a predetermined value.
