A control device of a vehicle with a stepped automatic transmission has: a gradient acquiring part; a driving force calculating part; a future change estimating part; and a shift control part. The shift control part prohibits change of the gear stage when the speed of change of the speed or acceleration of the vehicle in the future if the maximum driving force applied, is within a reference range of speed of change where the occupants would not notice a change in speed or acceleration, and permits change of the gear stage when the speed of change of the speed or acceleration of the vehicle in the future if the maximum driving force applied, is outside the reference range of speed of change.

A vehicle has a drive control ECU that controls an internal combustion engine or a transmission on the basis of a target drive force. The drive control ECU has a first arbitrator that sets the target drive force on the basis of a driver's request and the like, and filters that have individually different damping characteristics and that correct the target drive force from the first arbitrator so that the vibration of a sprung weight of the vehicle is controlled, as well as a switch that includes a switching portion and a filter setting portion. The filter setting portion determines whether a pitching resonance frequency has changed. If having determined that the pitching resonance frequency has changed, the filter setting portion switches the filter having been used for correcting the target drive force to a filter corresponding to a post-change pitching resonance frequency.

A controller controls braking force and driving force of a vehicle, in accordance with demand force. The controller includes a first and second demand force arithmetic units for arithmetically calculating first and second demand force. The first demand force includes a factor inducing vibration in suspended components of the vehicle. The second demand force substantially excludes the factor inducing vibration in suspended components of the vehicle. A vibration damping filter reduces the factor from a waveform of the first demand force, thereby producing post-filter demand force. An arbitration unit compares the post-filter demand force with the second demand force, thereby selecting one of the post-filter demand force and second demand force as final demand force.

A powertrain control ECU sets a target driving force, and controls an internal combustion engine and a transmission of a vehicle. A first processor of the powertrain control ECU includes a driving force adjustment portion, a filter, a mode-switch, an environmental information-obtaining device, and a steering sensor. The driving force adjustment portion sets the target driving force based on at least one of instructions from a driver and from a second processor. The filter corrects the target driving force to suppress vibration on a spring of the vehicle. The mode-switch sets the running mode. The environmental information-obtaining device obtains information on the environment around the vehicle. The steering angle sensor determines the running condition. A correction amount, by which the filter corrects the target driving force, is adjusted according to the running mode, the environment, and the running condition.

When a speed ratio, which is the ratio of the turbine speed to the engine speed, is equal to or less than 1, a driving torque converter dynamic characteristic model is used which is set based on a driving torque converter static characteristic in which the torque ratio decreases to 1 with an increase of the speed ratio. When the speed ratio is greater than 1, a driven torque converter dynamic characteristic model is used which is set based on a driven torque converter static characteristic in which the torque ratio is 1 regardless of the speed ratio.

A vehicle integrated control system includes an external disturbance load compensator. The present invention provides inspection of a transmission with higher precision and in a shorter period of time. Before a finished A/T is inspected, a V/B ASSY and an ECU are inspected together by a V/B tester in a subsidiary line. A solenoid current command value (a characteristic value inherent in the A/T) for a linear solenoid of the V/B ASSY is corrected and written into the ECU through CAN communication. Spring load of a return spring SP and stroke of the piston of a hydraulic servo for a frictional engagement element are measured. Actually measured values or corrected values of the spring load and the stroke are stored. In the final inspection of the A/T a finished-product tester reads the stored characteristic values and transmits them to the ECU integrated with the A/T through CAN communication. The characteristic values are then written into the ECU. The finished-product tester inspects the finished A/T product, using the characteristic values thus written into the ECU.
