A power storage device of the present disclosure includes: a power storage element; a case that houses the power storage element, the case having a bottomed tubular shape and including an opening at one end of the case; and a sealing body that seals the opening. The case includes a first pressing part and a second pressing part in a vicinity of the opening. The first pressing part presses a side surface of the sealing body and protrudes to an inside of the case, and the second pressing part presses an upper surface of the sealing body. The sealing body includes a slit on the upper surface of the sealing body. The slit extends radially inward of the case with respect to the second pressing part and opens at the side surface of the sealing body.

Power storage device

A disclosed power storage device includes a power storage element, a case with a bottomed cylindrical shape having an opening at one end and housing the power storage element, and a sealing member for sealing the opening. The case has, in a vicinity of the opening, a first pressing portion pressing a side surface of the sealing member and protruding inward of the case, and a gas vent portion disposed nearer to the one end of the case than an apex which is the most protruded point of the first pressing portion. This can provide a power storage device including an explosion-proof mechanism that has high operational reliability and does not impair airtightness.

An electrolytic capacitor includes a capacitor element. The capacitor element includes an anode body, a dielectric layer disposed on a surface of the anode body, a solid electrolyte layer covering at least a part of the dielectric layer, and a first layer covering at least a part of the solid electrolyte layer. The first layer is in contact with the solid electrolyte layer. The first layer constitutes at least a part of the cathode lead-out layer. An electrode potential Pof the solid electrolyte layer is higher than an electrode potential Pof the first layer.

Electrolytic capacitor and capacitor element

In an electric storage device, a terminal plate includes an element-connecting part electrically connected to a first electrode at a first end of an electric storage element, and an external terminal connected to this element-connecting part. A sealing member is on the element-connecting part, and includes a hole where the external terminal is inserted. The sealing member and the external terminal seal an opening of an outer jacket. The external terminal includes a tapered part on its outer periphery at a tip, and is partially exposed from the sealing member. The tapered part includes a first end and a second end farther away from the element-connecting part than the first end. An edge of a side wall at the opening of the outer jacket is between the first and second ends of the tapered part in a first direction extending from the bottom to the opening of the outer jacket.

Electric storage device and method of manufacture thereof

An electrochemical capacitor includes electrolytic solution, a capacitor element, and a housing. The electrolytic solution contains cations, anions, solvent formed of materials other than lactones, and a lactone component. The capacitor element includes a negative electrode, a positive electrode, and a separator. The negative electrode includes an electrode layer capable of storing the cations, and the positive electrode includes a polarizable electrode layer and confronts the negative electrode. The separator is disposed between the negative and positive electrodes, and they are layered or wound together. The capacitor element is impregnated with the electrolytic solution. The housing accommodates the capacitor element and the electrolytic solution that contains the lactone component in a quantity ranging from 0.001 wt % to 5 wt % (inclusive) relative to the solvent.

Electrochemical capacitor

Two electrodes are drawn out from a wound capacitor element by a pair of leads. Each of electrodes forming the capacitor element includes a sheet-like collector, an electrode layer formed on the surface of the collector, and an exposed part provided on one edge of the collector. The electrode layer is not formed on the exposed part. The electrodes are wound such that the exposed parts come to both ends of the capacitor element. Two or more points of at least one of the exposed parts are connected together.

A negative electrode for an electrochemical capacitor includes a current collector having electric conductivity, and an electrode layer formed on a surface of the current collector and having cations stored therein. The resin layer has a non-woven fabric form of fibers made of resin irregularly bonded to one another. The fibers of the resin layer intertwine with the first electrode layer. The fibers of the resin layer intertwine with the first electrode layer. This capacitor can be thin and small.

Capacitor

The present invention provides an electrolyte highly reliable in charge and discharge in a high voltage condition, and an electrochemical capacitor using the same. The electrolyte of the present invention includes a solvent, an electrolyte salt having an anion having a perfluoro alkyl group represented by a following composition formula, and an acid inducing substance having a fluorine atom for an anion, characterized in that the weight ratio of the acid inducing substance is in a range of 0.0001 to 2.0 wt %:()](wherein Q is a group 13 or group 15 element in the periodic table, Ris a perfluoro alkyl group (CF), n is a natural number, 1&#x2266;y&#x3c;6, 1&#x2266;z&#x3c;6, Mis a cation of Xth valence, and X is a natural number from 1 to 3). Thereby, since excessive electric potential decline of the negative electrode by the electrolyte salt and destruction of the negative electrode protection film by HF are restrained at the same time, deterioration of the cycle characteristics is restrained even in the case of charge and discharge in a high temperature or high voltage condition.

Electrolyte solution and electrochemical capacitor using same

An electric double layer capacitor includes a first collector, a first polarizable electrode layer provided on the first collector, a second collector, a second polarizable electrode layer provided on the second collector and facing the first polarizable electrode layer, a separator having an insulating property and provided between the first polarizable electrode layer and the second polarizable electrode layer, and a driving electrolyte impregnated in the first polarizable electrode layer and the second polarizable electrode layer. The polarizable electrode layers mainly contain activated carbon made from phenol resin, have a surface roughness not larger than 0.6 &#x3bc;m, and have an electrode density ranging from 0.5 g/cmto 0.7 g/cm. This electric double layer capacitor has characteristics deteriorating little even at low temperatures, thus having a reliability for a long time.

Electric double layer capacitor

An electric double layer capacitor includes a case, an electrolyte solution accommodated in the case, and an electrode foil immersed in the electrolyte solution. The electrode foil includes a collector and an electrode layer covering the collector. The collector has a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface. The collector has apertures provided therein. The apertures communicate with the first surface and the second surface of the collector. The collector includes a projection provided at an edge of at least one aperture out of the apertures. The projection projects from the first surface of the collector and penetrates the electrode layer. The electric double layer capacitor provides a large contact area and a large joining strength between the collector and the electrode layer, and allows the collector to have a small thickness, hence having a large output density and a large energy density.

A negative electrode of an electrochemical capacitor includes an electrode layer using a material capable of reversibly absorbing and releasing a lithium ion. A method for pretreating the negative electrode includes forming a lithium layer on a substrate by a gas phase method or a liquid phase method, and transferring the lithium layer onto a surface of the electrode layer of the negative electrode.

The electrode material of the present invention is characterized by comprising a carbonaceous material and an activated carbon, the carbonaceous material obtained by thermal-treating or activating a fullerene-containing soot or an extracted residue obtained by substantially extracting at least a part of fullerene from a fullerene-containing soot using a solvent. The electrode for an electric double layer capacitor and the electric double layer capacitor of the present invention is characterized by using the electrode material.
