A display apparatus includes a variable aperture stop device, a control circuit and a user interface. The variable aperture stop device is operable to adjust the lens opening size by opening and closing an aperture. The control circuit is operable to control the opening and closing of the aperture based on an aperture ratio for the brightness distribution of an input signal constituting a screen. The user interface permits to set times necessary for the opening and closing of the aperture. The control circuit controls the opening and closing of the aperture based on times set via the user interface so that the response to the opening and closing of the aperture differs between when the signal changes from dark to light levels and when the level changes from light to dark levels.

Display apparatus and driving method of the same

An image display device having an image generation unit for generating an image according to an instruction, a display unit able to display in color the image generated at the image generation unit, a user interface unit including a color designation part enabling selective designation of any color from among a plurality of colors and an adjustment degree designation part able to instruct the degree of adjustment of at least attributes of the color designated by the color designation part, and a control unit for instructing the image generation unit so as to generate an image able to display at least a color designated by the color designation part of the user interface unit.

Image display device

A video display apparatus that supports a display data channel (DDC) standard includes: one DDC-supported non-volatile memory and a control unit for writing, based on information indicating the kind of input video signal, extended display identification (EDID) data for this input video signal out of EDID data for plural kinds of video signals into the DDG-supported non-volatile memory. Accordingly, in the video display apparatus that supports DDC, it becomes possible to make the host side perform settings for plural kinds of video signals in accordance with properties of the video display apparatus, and also a reduction in cost and down-sizing are facilitated.

Video display apparatus

A multibillboard system has a matrix of display monitors for displaying an image on a single screen. Electric energy from a power supply is supplied through a main power supply switch to the display monitors. In response to a power-on remote control signal, the electric energy from the main power supply switch is supplied to the display monitors to energize them successively with respective different time delays. Since the display monitors are energized successively, not simultaneously, any rush current flowing to the multibillboard system is reduced when the multibillboard system is turned on.

Power supply apparatus for a system composed of plural electronic units

A system for adjusting the white balance of a projector type color display device is shown. The color display device includes three single color cathode ray tubes from which single color beams are projected onto a screen to form a colored image on the screen. The white balance adjusting system comprises a first device for feeding one of the three cathode ray tubes with all white signal to cause the same to project a single color image on the screen; a second device for detecting a luminance value of the single color image on the screen; a third device for deriving luminance values of the other single color images from the detected luminance value; and a fourth device for controlling the selected cathode ray tube in such a manner that the derived luminance values are put in a tolerance which is provided for dealing with a noise of the second device.
