Magnet slot includes a permanent magnet insertion portion and air regions that is formed at both circumferential direction ends of the permanent magnet insertion portion. The air region includes a first circumferentially extending portion that extends from a circumferentially end portion of the permanent magnet insertion portion to a circumferentially outer side, a radially extending portion that extends from the first circumferentially extending portion to a radially inner side, and a second circumferentially extending portion that extends from the radially extending portion to a circumferentially inner side until reaching between the radially inner peripheral surface of the permanent magnet insertion portion and the shaft hole. A radially inner end surface of the radially extending portion and a radially inner end surface of the second circumferentially extending portion are made up of a portion of a circular arc in contact with the circumferentially outer side surface of the radially extending portion.

Rotor and permanent magnet type rotating electrical machine

An embedded permanent magnet type motor, which has one pole configured of two permanent magnets and has a plurality of poles of permanent magnets embedded in a rotor, includes a rotor whose magnet embedding holes communicate with a rotor outer periphery. The rotor has between adjacent poles a q-axis projection projecting in a direction away from a rotor rotation center. The magnet embedding holes are disposed so as to form an inverted V shape. An outer peripheral edge portion on the outer side of the permanent magnets has a curvature radius smaller than the distance from a rotation center axis to a rotor outermost peripheral portion. The outer peripheral edge portion is provided with permanent magnet positioning projections which restrain a movement of the permanent magnets toward between adjacent poles.

Each conductor segment includes linear parts inserted in slots formed in a stator core and different in circumferential direction, inclined parts inclined and extending from respective end parts of the linear parts toward a center part so as to project toward the outside in an axis direction from an axis-direction end surface of the core, and a projecting curve part connecting apical ends of the inclined parts to each other and curves and projects toward the outside in the axis direction. Connection parts between the linear parts and the inclined parts and a curved part of the projecting curve part are all bent parts having the same bend radius of minimum R, which has a size equal to or more than a sheet width of a conductor strand.
