A master gear shaft of a spinning reel has a through-hole having a rectangular cross-section formed on the inner periphery of the master gear shaft. A handle shaft has a head that interlocks with the right end of the master gear shaft, a trunk which extends from the head and is non-rotatively inserted into the through-hole, and a first threaded portion having a male screw projecting from the tip of the trunk. A handle arm has a boss for interlocking with the left end of the master gear shaft, a second threaded portion, which is a female screw threaded portion that engages with the first threaded portion and is provided on the boss, and an arm that extends from the boss in a direction interlocking with the master gear shaft. The handle assembly prevents a handle shaft from loosening from a master gear shaft in a spinning reel.

A brake structure for a reel comprising a rotary member rotatable in a spool transmission system, a centrifugal brake device including a brake block radially slidably mounted on the rotary member and a brake shoe attached to a fixing structure, and a position maintaining mechanism for allowing slide movement of the brake block to maintain the brake block in an operative position for effecting a braking operation and a retaining position for moving the brake block away from the brake shoe. The brake block is reversibly moved from the operative position to the retaining position upon release of the positional maintenance.

Brake structure for a reel

A fishing reel is provided with a spool and a magnetic brake for reducing overrun of the spool. The spool has a frame member which rotatably supports the spool, a cylindrical electric conductor rotatable together with the spool, and a magnet holder having at least one magnet positioned at one side of the holder radially of the conductor and opposite thereto. The holder has a support unit which supports the holder to the frame member so that the magnet can be adjusted radially toward or away from the conductor to thereby adjust the braking of the conductor. The support means includes a control member which controls the holder to move toward the position where the magnet is adjusted.

Brake for a fishing reel

A fishing reel having a spool and a magnet brake for diminishing an overrun of the spool is provided with an adjuster for the brake, the adjuster being provided with an operating member which is operable by an angler's hand gripping a fishing rod on which the reel is mounted, so that the braking action of the brake is adjustable during the casting.

A winding and reciprocation mechanism is disclosed for a spinning type fishing reel. A master gear is connected to and rotates a first tubular shaft which is connected to a rotary frame. The master gear is also connected to and rotates a second tubular shaft disposed within the first tubular shaft. The second tubular shaft is connected with an axially fixed engaging member which engages with a transverse groove in a spool shaft to axially reciprocate the spool shaft and in turn a spool connected thereto. The engaging member is incorporated in an inner space of the rotary frame to provide a small lightweight reel.

Fishing reel

A fishing reel having a spool and a magnetic brake for reducing an overrun of the spool is provided with an adjuster to adjust the braking effect of the brake, a stopper holding the adjuster in its adjusting position, and a lever for releasing the holding of adjuster to cause a maximum braking effect on the spool.

A fishing reel which supports a spool shaft with a spool rotatably between a pair of frames, the spool shaft being driven through a drive mechanism, and provides a clutch operating mechanism to make the spool freely rotatable. A stopper gear is provided at at least one of the spool and spool shaft and a stopper engageable with said gear to impede reverse rotation of said spool is provided at the frame. A stopper operating member is provided to be operated to disengage the stopper from the stopper gear.

A fishing reel which comprises a spool carried by a spool shaft rotatably supported between a first and second side frames, a driving mechanism for driving the spool shaft, a clutch mechanism for controlling the coupling and uncoupling of the driving mechanism with the spool shaft, and a clutch control mechanism for operating the clutch, each provided at the first side frame respectively, a rotary member provided at the spool at the first side frame side to be rotatable together with the spool, a contact member provided at the first side frame to contact with and depart from the rotary member so that the contact member contacts with the rotary member to apply a rotational resistance to the spool, and an operation mechanism provided at the first side frame for operating the contact member to be in a contacting position and departing position with respect to the rotary member, so that when the spool freely rotates, a desired resistance can be easily applied to the free rotation of the spool.

Clutch and brake for a fishing reel

A magnetic brake fishing reel is provided which includes a reel body rotatably supporting a spool and a drive mechanism supported to the reel body and having a clutch for releasably driving the spool. The magnetic brake has an electric conductor which is rotatable together with the spool. A magnet holder having at least one magnet is disposed opposite to the conductor. An adjustor which moves the magnet has an operating member positioned such that it is hand-operable by an angler gripping a fishing reel rod on which the reel is mounted.

A fishing reel comprises a spool shaft having a spool and which is supported rotatably between a pair of frames so that the spool shaft is driven through a clutch by a drive mechanism having a drag mechanism and which is provided with a clutch operating mechanism which is operated to disengage the clutch to allow the spool to freely rotate. The drive mechanism is provided at a main gear thereof with a stopper gear rotatable together therewith, one of the frames is provided with a stopper engageable with the stopper gear to impede the reverse rotation of spool, and the frame is provided with an operating segment for the stopper, thereby enabling engagement and disengagement of stopper with or from the stopper gear.

Fishing reel having a spool rotation control mechanism

A fishing reel which rotatably supports a spool shaft having a spool to a reel body through a pair of bearings and incorporates, into a bearing housing supporting one of the pair of bearings, a magnetic force brake which imparts a rotational resistance against free rotation of the spool shaft, has the bearing at the bearing housing incorporating the brake formed as a metallic bearing comprising a non-magnetic material.

A fishing reel in which a fishing line can be wound on a spool through rotation of a rotary frame having a bail arm by operating a handle and the wound line can be drawn out of the spool for casting by turning over the bail arm, said spool having a first flange at a side with respect to the reel body, a cylindrical extension extending at the first flange toward the reel body, a third flange provided at the end of the cylindrical extension to thereby form a groove for receiving the fishing line, so that the fishing line, if backlash occurs during casting, can be prevented from falling between and being caught by the spool and the rotary frame.
