A fan includes an impeller portion generating an air flow and a motor that rotates the impeller portion about a center axis. The impeller portion is attached to a yoke of a rotor portion of the motor and is rotated with the yoke. A circular portion of the impeller is attached to a bottom opening of the yoke having a cylindrical shape whose top is covered by insert molding. Therefore, the impeller and the yoke may be securely fixed to each other. In addition, an outer side surface of the yoke is exposed to outside air such that the space arranged inward from the plurality of blades may be enlarged.

A motor according to the present invention preferably includes a boss portion preferably includes an inner ring portion including a substantially ring shaped convex portion at an axially lower end surface thereof. The boss portion preferably includes a through hole at which a shaft is press fitted at a central portion thereof. A rotor holder including a substantially cylindrical shape includes a through hole centered about a rotary axis. The through hole and the inner ring portion of the boss portion are fitted to one another. The convex portion includes a portion plastically deformed outwardly in the radial direction to sandwich an inner circumferential surface of the rotor holder. The inner circumferential surface of the impeller cup portion includes a plurality of convex portions near an upper portion thereof. The rotor holder is press fitted into the inner circumferential surface of the impeller cup portion via the convex portions.

Motor, fan and manufacturing method of the same

An arrangement of a low air inlet and a circuit for driving a torque generator in an ultra-compact centrifugal fan is disclosed. In the ultra-compact centrifugal fan, a region occupied by the circuit is not completely arranged radially inside a cup-shaped portion to which an impeller is attached. At least a part of the low air inlet provided on a bottom of a housing of the centrifugal fan is arranged in a range of predetermined angle in an imaginary ring-shaped portion surrounding a base portion covered by the cup-shaped portion. A part of the circuit, that is not covered by the cup-shaped portion, is arranged upstream of the range of the predetermined angle in a flowing direction of airflow.
