Disclosed is an iron core material, comprising a high density compression molded product of a mixture of magnetic powder of iron or iron alloy having a mean particle size of 100.mu. or less and an insulating caking material such as thermosetting resins. The magnetic powder, when its mean particle size is represented by D.mu. and its resistivity by .rho..mu..OMEGA. -cm, is preferred to have a value of the resistivity which may satisfy the following equation: ##EQU1##

A sheath heater having a heating wire embedded in a ceramic insulator such that the thermal deformation of the heating wire is substantially prevented, wherein the heating wire is formed of a nichrome-based wire having an Al-rich surface layer so as to permit forming an oxidation-protective alumina layer on the surface of the nichrome-based wire.

Disclosed is a bismuth-tin-indium alloy consisting essentially of 53 to 76 weight % of bismuth, 22 to 35 weight % of tin and 2 to 12 weight % of indium. This alloy has excellent sealing property and oxidation resistance, and is suitable particularly to the use as a seal material for a rotating plug of a nuclear reactor.

Bismuth-tin-indium alloy

Disclosed is a bismuth-tin-indium-lead alloy consisting essentially of 28 to 72 weight % of bismuth, 25 to 52 weight % of tin, 2 to 12 weight % of indium and 1 to 8 weight % of lead. This alloy has excellent sealing property and oxidation resistance, and is suitable particularly to the use as a seal material for a rotating plug of a nuclear reactor.
