An engine is supported on a vehicle body frame through an active vibration-isolating device. The vibration of the engine is prevented from being transmitted to the vehicle body frame by controlling the active vibration-isolating device. A speaker is disposed within a vehicle compartment. The noise is reduced by adaptively controlling the speaker based on a rotational speed of the engine and a noise detected by a microphone disposed within the vehicle compartment. Thus, the vibration and noise characteristics of the vehicle can be improved by a synergic effect of reducing both the vibration and the noise. Further, because the microphone is inexpensive and the speaker for an audio set can be used without any modification, the present invention can be achieved with a low cost.

Vibration-isolating and sound isolating system for vehicle

A liquid-filled engine mount is disclosed which includes a rubbery elastic member interposed between an engine and a vehicle body, a diaphragm positioned in opposed relation to the rubbery elastic member. The engine mount defines a liquid chamber therein. The liquid chamber holds an actuating liquid therein. The liquid chamber has a partition wall disposed therein. The partition wall separates the liquid chamber into primary and secondary chambers. The primary chamber is provided on a side of the elastic member while the secondary chamber is provided on a side of the diaphragm. The partition wall has first and second orifices extending therethrough. The first orifice communicates with both the primary chamber and the secondary chamber. The second orifice communicates with the primary chamber. The first and second orifices provide different resistances to the liquid flowing therethrough. The engine mount includes a resilient means for urging the diaphragm against the partition wall to close an opening of the second orifice. The engine mount includes a diaphragm driving means for forcing the diaphragm against a resilient force the resilient means exerts on the diaphragm to thereby open the opening of the second orifice, such that the second orifice communicates with the secondary chamber. The diaphragm has plural projections formed on a surface thereof.

Liquid-filled engine mount

A vibration-damping device including: an elastic body connecting a first and a second mounting member: a pressure receiving and equilibrium chambers partially defined by the elastic body and a flexible diaphragm, filled with a non-compressible fluid and held in fluid communication through a first orifice passage and a second orifice passage that is tuned higher than the first orifice passage. A shut-off valve mechanism operable to selectively allow and inhibit fluid flows through the second orifice passage, an elastic oscillation plate partially defining the pressure-receiving chamber so that a fluid pressure in the pressure-receiving chamber acts on one surface of the elastic oscillation plate, and a working air chamber partially defined by the other surface of the elastic oscillation plate and oscillated by a periodic air pressure change in the working air chamber, are also incorporated. A method of controlling the same is also disclosed.

Fluid-filled vibration-damping device and method of controlling the same

A fluid-filled active vibration damping device including: a pressure-receiving chamber partially defined by an elastic body; an oscillating fluid chamber partially defined by an oscillating rubber plate on one side thereof; a first orifice passage for a fluid communication between the pressure-receiving and oscillating fluid chamber, which are filled with a non-compressible fluid; and a working air chamber partially defined by the oscillating rubber plate on the other side thereof, to which an air pressure variation is applied to cause an oscillation of the oscillating rubber plate. A ratio V/Q of a passage volume V of the first orifice passage to a unit flow amount Q of the fluid through the first orifice passage caused by the oscillation of the oscillating rubber plate based on the air pressure variation applied to the working air chamber is held within a range of about 1-10.

Fluid-filled active vibration damping device

An active vibration isolating support device for preventing the direct transmission of vibrations from an engine to a vehicle body frame includes an electromagnetic actuator for driving a movable member in a reciprocating fashion to change the capacity of a first liquid chamber. A shaft portion of an armature driven by a coil is supported by a bearing so that it moves along an axis, whereby the size of an air gap can be maintained as small as possible, thereby making it possible to miniaturize the coil. In addition, a connecting rod for connecting the movable member with the armature is supported so as to sway relative to a coil spring and a saucer spring, whereby the vibration of the movable member is prevented from being transmitted to the shaft portion of the armature.

Active vibration isolating support device

A liquid-sealing type vibration-isolating device has a primary fluid chamber and a subsidiary fluid chamber which communicate with each other through a short idle orifice and a long shock orifice, and a switch-over valve for connecting the primary and subsidiary fluid chambers with each other through the idle orifice in the low speed revolution range of an engine mounted on the device and through the long shock orifice in the medium-high speed revolution range. During the shifting of the switch-over valve, in order to prevent sudden increase in the spring constant of the device, the primary fluid is short-circuited with the subsidiary fluid chamber through a communication port, the inside of a valve member, a communication bore and an auxiliary communication passage.
