A moisture disposing device for use in a self-contained air conditioner, wherein the device includes a casing including a base plate on which components are mounted, a heat exchanger, a propeller fan located in opposition to the heat exchanger, an air guider connected to the heat exchanger, the air guider and the propeller fan constituting an air passageway, a slinger ring fitted to the propeller fan, the air guider having an orifice whose shape is vertically oblong, and having a larger radius of the major axis at each oblong end than half of the diameter of the slinger ring.

A self-contained air conditioner which has a body including an outer casing having a louver area, the outer casing and the louver area being molded from resin in one piece, the louver area being made of a plurality of wedge-shaped slats each having a thick base portion.

Self-contained air conditioner

A unit-type air conditioner has an out-door portion which has an out-door heat-exchanger, an out-door fan opposing the out-door heat exchanger and an air guider having an orifice defining the passage of air from the out-door fan and the out-door heat exchanger. The center of the circle of a slinger ring attached to the out-door fan is slightly offset from the center of the circle of the orifice such that the circle of the slinger ring is offset from the center of the orifice in the direction in which the slinger ring scoops condensate water generated in the air conditioner. Part of the condensate water scooped by the slinger ring is sprayed to the out-door heat exchanger so as to be evaporated by the heat generated in the heat-exchanger, while the remaining part of the condensate water collides with the wall of the orifice so as to be returned to a drain pan. Consequently, undesirable springing of condensate wall from out-door air suction openings is avoided.

Condensate water disposal arrangement for unit-type air conditioner

A self-contained air conditioner which includes a moisture-collecting pan formed of a part of the base plate on which a compressor, an inner heat exchanger and an outer heat exchanger are mounted and an air filter disposed between an inner grill and the inner heat exchanger, wherein the bottom of the air filter is set to be placed on the pan, thus preventing moisture formed on the air filter from dropping through the inner grill onto the floor of the room.
