An image pickup apparatus which is capable of efficiently dispersing heat from a circuit board. A heating element is mounted on the circuit board. A heat transfer member made of a material with higher thermal conductivity than that of a chassis is disposed between the circuit board and the chassis in a direction of an optical axis. First connecting units support the circuit board and the heat transfer member in a stacked manner at a plurality of positions including two positions different from each other in a horizontal direction. A second connecting unit supports the heat transfer member. A third connecting unit supports an exterior member of the image pickup apparatus. Both the second connecting unit and the third connecting unit are provided between the two positions of the first connecting units in the horizontal direction.

A lens barrel that is capable of miniaturizing and thinning an image pickup apparatus by enabling to switch manual lens drive and electric lens drive with a simple mechanism. A lens barrel is mounted on an image pickup apparatus that supports an operation member rotatably. A drive barrel engages with a lens holding member to drive it in an optical axis direction. A motor transfers rotation to the drive barrel through a transfer mechanism. A switching mechanism switches between electric lens drive that drives the lens holding member by transferring rotation of the motor to the drive barrel and manual lens drive that drives the lens holding member by transferring rotation of the operation member to the drive barrel via an elastic member that rotates together with the operation member according to a user's operation. The drive barrel engages with the elastic member while shifting to a photographing area.

An electronic apparatus includes a board on which a heating element is mounted, a fan including a discharge port, a heat-exchange unit configured to receive air discharged from the discharge port of the fan and radiate heat and a heat-conductive unit configured to thermally couple the heating element and the heat-exchange unit. The heating element is placed as an extension of a discharging direction of the air from the fan with respect to the discharge port of the fan. The heat-exchange unit is placed between the heating element and the fan in a direction substantially parallel to the discharging direction.

The lock member can move along an axis of the pivot shaft between a position for engaging the battery and a position for releasing the engagement. The urging member is disposed coaxially with the pivot shaft and urges the lock member toward the position for engaging the battery.

There is provided a roll paper storage cassette and a recording apparatus which do not need a roll paper storage cassette according to the size of roll papers, and prevent a roll paper, a roll-paper shaft, and a roll paper storage cassette from being erroneously loaded. A roll paper storage cassette for housing a roll paper wound around the core portion of a roll paper shaft includes a pair of openable and closable cases, an attachment which can be attached and detached to and from the inside of both ends of the case according to the size of the roll paper, and a regulation member configured to prevent the roll paper shaft of a specific type from entering and allow the roll paper shaft of another specific type to enter in a state where the attachment is detached and configured to be moved from a position where the roll paper shaft of the specific type is prevented from entering in a state where the attachment is attached.

A sheet storage cassette which contains a print sheet in roll form and is attached to a printing apparatus, comprises: a shaft which retaining the print sheet in roll form; and a support portion rotatably supporting the shaft, wherein an urging member protrudes from a maximum outer diameter of the shaft while the print sheet is not attached to the shaft, and urges the inner surface of a hollow portion of the print sheet while the print sheet is attached to the shaft, and a rib portion which continuously extends in a rotational direction and contacts a pickup guide, when the urging member rotates, the rib portion is provided to prevent the pickup guide from interfering with the urging member which rotates together with the shaft.

Sheet storage cassette and printing apparatus

A feeding apparatus for roll paper that enables downsizing and a stable feeding of a printer pressurizes a roll paper shaft to press-contact with a feeding roller, and thereafter, drives the feeding roller to feed the paper, and urges a pick-up guide to contact an outer circumference of the roll paper. In a feeding mechanism for picking up the leading edge of the roll paper, a tip end of the pick-up guide rotates in a direction to widen a paper conveyance path as a remaining amount of the roll paper becomes less, and a part of the pick-up guide moves to a direction to approach the roll paper to be conveyed or a direction to urge the roll paper according to the rotation of the pick-up guide.

Feeding apparatus

A conveyance mechanism is configured to convey a leading part of a roll paper pulled out of a wound part of the roll paper via a conveyance path including a curved portion bent toward an opposite direction to a winding direction of the roll paper wound in a roll shape. The conveyance mechanism includes a control unit configured to control conveyance of the roll paper in such a manner that a front end portion of the roll paper becomes greater with respect to number of times or total time in passing through the curved portion compared to a central portion of the leading part of the roll paper pulled out of the roll paper wound in the roll shape in a longitudinal direction.

Conveyance mechanism, recording apparatus including the conveyance mechanism, and roll paper conveyance method using the conveyance mechanism

A cartridge, detachably attached to a recording apparatus, includes a recording sheet container. The recording apparatus includes a sheet turning device. When a recording sheet is conveyed from the cartridge to an image forming section, the sheet turning device turns the recording sheet around an axis parallel to a normal line to the recording surface of the recording sheet. The longitudinal direction of the recording sheets contained in the recording sheet container is generally perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the recording sheet being subjected to recording in the image forming section.

A sheet conveying apparatus includes a skew amount detecting unit configured to detect an amount of skew of a sheet, two rollers configured to convey the sheet in a predetermined conveyance direction when rotating in a same direction and to rotate the sheet around a predetermined point when rotating in mutually different directions, and a control unit configured to control the two rollers such that the two rollers convey the sheet to a position where a distance from the predetermined point to a specific edge of the sheet becomes a predetermined value and then rotate the sheet based on the amount of skew detected by the skew amount detecting unit to change an orientation of the sheet.

A sheet feeder includes first and second rollers, a power source, and first and second drive units. The first and second rollers can be independently rotated to apply a feeding force to a sheet. The sheet feeder can switch the first drive unit to a meshing state and the second drive unit to an escape state so as to input a rotational driving force from the power source to the first drive unit and can also switch the first drive unit to the escape state and the second drive unit to the meshing state so as to input the rotational driving force from the power source to the second drive unit.

A sheet feeding apparatus to which a cassette accommodating a sheet is detachably mountable includes supplying means for supplying the sheet from the cassette; a reference member having a reference surface for regulating a position of a lateral edge of the sheet being fed in a predetermined feeding direction by the supplying means; feeding means for feeding the sheet in a direction inclined relative to the feeding direction toward the reference surface to abut the lateral edge of the sheet to the reference surface; and moving means for selectively moving the reference member in response to mounting of the cassette such that reference member is placed at a position corresponding to a width of the sheet accommodated in the cassette.
