A seat belt device includes a buckle provided on a side portion of a seat for a vehicle, and configured such that a tongue plate is inserted into the buckle; a buckle force limiter mechanism connected to the buckle via a connecting member having an elongate shape, the buckle force limiter mechanism being configured to allow the buckle to move in a pulling direction when a tensile load equal to or larger than a predetermined tensile load is applied to the buckle; and a case covering the connecting member from an inner side in a seat width direction, the case having a corner at an upper end portion of the case, the corner facing the connecting member, and the corner having an arc shape.

Seat belt device

A parking and stopping control system includes a park maintaining device configured to maintain a parked state; a park maintaining control device configured to control the park maintaining device to maintain the parked state; a parking temporary determining device capable of making a temporary determination that there is a possibility an own vehicle will be parked; and an intention determining device configured to determine an intention of a driver, wherein when the temporary determination is made, the park maintaining control device controls the park maintaining device to execute a maintaining control of the parked state if an intention of the driver is an intention to park, and the park maintaining control device prohibits the maintaining control of the parked state if the intention of the driver is not the intention to park.

Slope-descending speed control device for a vehicle

A vehicle-center-of-gravity condition determining apparatus includes: a rear wheel brake pressure change unit; a front wheel brake pressure detector; a rear wheel brake pressure detector; a rear wheel axle load estimating unit configured to estimate a rear wheel axle load based on a relationship between front and rear brake pressures detected during braking and a rear wheel axle load property of the rear wheel brake pressure change unit; and a vehicle-center-of-gravity condition determiner configured to determine a center of gravity condition of a vehicle in a vehicle width direction based on the estimated rear wheel axle load. The rear wheel axle load estimating unit is configured to estimate each of the rear wheel axle loads in a case where braking is performed in a state of at least two of during straight running, during right turning, and during left turning.

Vehicle-center-of-gravity condition determining apparatus and vehicle behavior control system

An electronic control unit is provided with a braking device formed of a brake pedal which exerts braking force on a vehicle, a brake actuator, braking units and the like, a vehicle speed change rate setting device which sets a target vehicle speed change rate, and a vehicle speed control device which performs vehicle speed control to realize the target vehicle speed change rate by predetermined operation to the braking device performed by a driver. The vehicle speed change rate setting device sets a target vehicle speed change rate to accelerate the vehicle when the predetermined operation is performed while the vehicle stops, for example.

Driving support system

A curtain air bag system includes a curtain air bag that is housed folded up in an upper edge portion of a door opening, and that includes a first deployment portion that deploys when a vehicle is collided with in a side collision as well as when the vehicle rolls over, and a second deployment portion that deploys at least when the vehicle rolls over, by receiving a supply of gas. The first deployment portion deploys in a cylindrical shape extending in a vehicle longitudinal direction, above a belt line such that a rear end side of the first deployment portion overlaps with a center pillar when viewed from a side of the vehicle, and the second deployment portion deploys such that a lower end extends below the belt line, in a position not overlapping with the first deployment portion when viewed from the side.

Curtain air bag system

A vehicle air bag system includes a side air bag that is housed folded up in a vehicle seat and that deploys between an occupant seated in the vehicle seat and a front side door by receiving a supply of gas when a side collision occurs, and a curtain air bag that is housed folded up in an upper edge portion of a door opening and that deploys in a curtain shape downward by receiving a supply of gas when a side collision and a rollover occur. The curtain air bag has a delay chamber that deploys later than a main chamber by receiving a supply of gas from the main chamber via a narrowed passage. The delay chamber deploys with a lower end side below a beltline and in an area that overlaps with a deployment area of a side air bag.

Vehicle air bag system

With the curtain air bag system according to this aspect, if the vehicle ends up rolling over, the main deployment portion receives a supply of gas and consequently inflates and deploys in a curtain shape. Also, the auxiliary deployment portion inflates and deploys by receiving a supply of gas from this main deployment portion via the gas passage. The head of an occupant seated in the front seat is protected against a rollover by the main deployment portion and the auxiliary deployment portion. Here, with the curtain air bag system described above, the upper end portion of the auxiliary deployment portion is connected to the front pillar via the connecting portion. Therefore, it is possible to prevent or effectively suppress the upper end of the auxiliary deployment portion from becoming offset in the vehicle width direction with respect to the front pillar when protecting the head of an occupant, which improves occupant head protection performance forward of the seat.

A curtain airbag apparatus is provided with a curtain airbag that is embedded, in a folded or rolled state, in an upper edge portion of at least one door opening and deploys into a form of a curtain, the curtain airbag having: a first deployment portion deploying downward by inflating with gas supplied from upon a side collision and rollover of the vehicle; a second deployment portion deploying downward by inflating with gas supplied at least upon a rollover of the vehicle, such that the second deployment portion is located in an area that does not overlap, as viewed laterally, an area in which the first deployment portion is located; and an internal pressure difference creator that makes an internal pressure of the second deployment portion higher than an internal pressure of the first deployment portion at least upon a rollover of the vehicle.

Curtain airbag apparatus

A curtain air bag of a curtain airbag system includes a main chamber stored in a folded condition in a roof side portion that extends rearward from a front pillar, and a front auxiliary chamber formed integrally with the main chamber and stored in a folded condition in the roof side portion together with the main chamber. The main chamber is inflated with gas supplied thereto in the event of a side impact of a vehicle and rollover of the vehicle, to be deployed like a curtain downwardly of the vehicle. The front auxiliary chamber is inflated with gas supplied thereto at least in the event of rollover of the vehicle, to be deployed in front of the main chamber such that an upper portion of the front auxiliary chamber as seen in a side view overlaps the front pillar, and a lower portion thereof overlaps a front side door.

Curtain airbag system

A seatbelt apparatus includes an electric motorfor winding a seatbelt, and a microcomputerfor controlling the electric motor. The microcomputercontrols the electric motorso as to wind the seatbeltat a winding load which increases to a first winding load at a first rising gradient when collision is detected using a detected length and a detected vehicle velocity by a length sensorand a vehicle velocity sensor. The microcomputercontrols the electric motorso as to wind the seatbeltat a winding load which increases to a second winding load which is larger than the first winding load at a second rising gradient which is larger than the first rising gradient when an emergency braking operation is detected by detection signal from a brake switch. Therefore, the seatbelt can be wound at a winding mode and a winding load which can protect a passenger without giving much feeling of discomfort.

Seat belt device for vehicle

In a passenger restraint device for an automotive vehicle, when the relative speed of the vehicle with respect to a crash object changes as a result of a driving maneuver of the vehicle performed before a crash, the actual crash time deviates from an estimated crash time calculated from the distance and the relative speed of the vehicle and the crash object. To resolve this, the actuation timing, actuation rise time and seat belt tension of a seat belt reeling-in device are varied on the basis of information relating to a deceleration rate that is a rate of decrease of the relative speed.

Safety device for a vehicle

A pump module includes a fuel pump, a fuel filter having a filter casing and a filter element, a fuel outlet, and a pressure regulator. The filter casing covers at least a part of the outer circumference of the fuel pump, and accommodates the filter element. The fuel outlet is disposed outside the outer circumference of the filter casing, and includes an outflow passage for flowing the fuel from a discharge opening disposed on a sidewall of the outer circumference of the filter casing. The outflow passage includes a retrieve passage extending from the discharge opening to the sidewall of the outer circumference of the filter casing. The pressure regulator is disposed outside the outer circumference of the filter casing, and includes a regulator inlet for introducing the fuel, the regulator inlet being opened to the retrieve passage.

Pump module

An occupant protection apparatus appropriately protects occupants of a vehicle, when a vehicle crush occurs, without requiring a troublesome task to the occupants. The occupant protection apparatus is provided with a steering angle sensor, a distance sensor and a brake depressing amount sensor. An electronic control unit predicts a vehicle crash based on the detection signals of each sensor so as to set a tension applied to a driver seat seatbelt to be smaller than a tension applied to passenger seat seatbelts. Additionally, the electronic control unit increases the tension applied to the seatbelts when a temperature detected by an outside-temperature detection sensor and/or an inside-temperature detection sensor is low.

Vehicle occupant protection apparatus

A fuel supplying apparatus for use with a main fuel tank and an engine includes a fuel discharge pipe for supplying fuel to the engine, a sub-tank disposed in the main fuel tank, a fuel pump for pressurizing fuel and a jet pump. The jet pump includes a throat and a nozzle projecting into the throat from the bottom wall of the sub-tank. The throat has a fuel inlet opening disposed outside the sub-tank and a fuel discharge opening disposed in the sub-tank. When pressured fuel is injected into the inlet opening of the throat, the fuel in the main tank is sucked to the sub-tank.
