A toner comprising a toner particle containing a crystalline polyester resin and an amorphous polyester resin, wherein, in a cross-sectional observation of the toner by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), the number-average diameter (D1) of major axis lengths of the crystalline polyester resin dispersed up to a depth of 0.30 &#x3bc;m from a toner surface is 40 nm to 110 nm, and the number-average diameter (D1) of major axis lengths of the crystalline polyester resin dispersed deeper than 0.30 &#x3bc;m from the toner surface is 1.25 to 4.00 times the number-average diameter (D1) of the major axis lengths of the crystalline polyester resin dispersed up to a depth of 0.30 &#x3bc;m from the toner surface.

Toner

Provided are a toner and a two-component developer each of which: shows a small fluctuation in charge quantity and a small fluctuation in image density even under a high-temperature and high-humidity environment; and does not cause any member contamination even after endurance and hence can stably output an image. The toner and the two-component developer each have a feature in that positively chargeable strontium titanate fine particles are added to toner particles having fixed thereto negatively chargeable silica fine particles.

Provided is a toner obtained by melting and kneading a binder resin containing a polyester resin A and a polyester resin B, a colorant, and a wax, in which in the resin A, the content of a polyhydric alcohol unit derived from an aromatic diol, the content of a polyhydric alcohol unit derived from an oxyalkylene ether of a novolac type phenol resin, and the content of a polyvalent carboxylic acid unit derived from an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid, which contains a straight-chain hydrocarbon having 4 or more to 16 or less carbon atoms as a main chain and has carboxyl groups at both of its terminals, fall within specific ranges, and in the resin B, the content of a polyhydric alcohol unit derived from an aromatic diol and the content of a polyvalent carboxylic acid unit derived from an aromatic dicarboxylic acid or a derivative thereof fall within specific ranges.

The present invention is an image-forming method in which, when &#x3b8;(A) is the contact angle relative to water of a surface of a photosensitive member and &#x3b8;(B) is the contact angle relative to water of a surface of an intermediate transfer member, &#x3b8;(B) is from 100&#xb0; to 150&#xb0;; &#x3b8;(A) and &#x3b8;(B) satisfy &#x2212;70&#xb0;&#x2266;&#x3b8;(A)&#x2212;&#x3b8;(B)&#x3c;0&#xb0;; the toner has a toner particle that contains a binder resin; and the contact angle relative to water of a surface of a pellet molding of the toner is from 60&#xb0; to 80&#xb0;.

Image-forming method

Provided is a developer replenishing cartridge excellent in accuracy with which an image forming apparatus is replenished with a developer irrespective of a use environment even when the developer is in a consolidated state. The developer replenishing cartridge includes: a developer replenishing container and a developer, being removably mountable to a developer replenishing apparatus; in which: the developer replenishing container includes a pump portion that operates so that a state where the internal pressure of a developer containing portion is lower than the atmospheric pressure and a state where the pressure is higher than the atmospheric pressure alternately repeatedly switch with each other; and the developer contains toner having a uniaxial collapse stress at a maximum consolidation stress of 10.0 kPa, of 2.5 kPa or more and 3.5 kPa or less.

Developer replenishing cartridge and developer replenishing method

The present invention provides a toner showing an excellent fixing property even in high-speed image formation and inhibiting contamination of the inside of an apparatus and thereby being capable of stably forming high-quality images not having unevenness of gloss over a long period of time. In the toner including toner particles containing a binder resin, an ester wax, and a coloring agent, the ester wax is prescribed by, in GC/MS analysis of components volatilized by heating the wax at 200&#xb0; C. for 10 minutes, a relationship in the components having carbon atoms in specific ranges.

An ejection liquid capable of being stably ejected based on a system using thermal energy even if the liquid contains at least one selected from the group consisting of proteins and peptides, and a method and an apparatus for ejecting the liquid containing at least one selected from the group consisting of proteins and peptides using this system are provided. A liquid discharging device includes a device body configured to house a liquid discharging cartridge body having a liquid discharging portion for discharge liquid, and a device body cap removably attached to the device body. When the device body cap is detached from the device body, a discharging portion cap attached to the liquid discharging cartridge body so as to protect a discharging port of the liquid discharging portion is detached from the liquid discharging portion in combination with the device body cap.

The present invention provides a liquid composition, as an ejection liquid used for stably ejecting liquid droplets, including at least one kind of a protein and a peptide, and a compound having a betaine skeleton by application of thermal energy to the liquid; a method of making droplets form the liquid; and an ejection method and an ejection device suitable for utilizing protein liquid droplets. By adding a compound having a betaine skeleton to an aqueous solution of at least one kind of a protein and a peptide, the liquid composition is improved in stability for ejection by application of thermal energy. Further, a surfactant may be further added to the liquid composition containing the compound having a betaine skeleton, and in this case the effect of stable ejection can be obtained.

A user inhales medicine ejected from the medicine ejecting section of an inhaler into the air flow duct of an air flow duct forming member through a hole. As the air flow duct forming member is taken off from the inhaler body, the medicine ejecting section is covered by a cap for protection. As the air flow duct forming member is fitted to the inhaler body, the cap is opened and a sensor recognizes the open state of the cap so that the air flow duct forming member is prohibited from being fitted to and taken off from the inhaler body by a claw that is secured to the air flow duct forming member. In this way, the medicine ejecting section is prevented from being damaged when the air flow duct is fitted to and taken away from the inhaler.
