A lubricating oil composition of the present invention for an internal combustion engine is prepared by blending (A) a perbasic calcium sulfonate and/or a perbasic calcium phenate having a TBN of 200 mgKOH/g or higher, (B) predetermined binuclear and/or trinuclear organic molybdenum compounds, and (C) a polyalkyl (meth)acrylate having an SSI of 30 or lower into a lubricating base oil composed of a mineral oil and/or a synthetic oil, in which the total content of molybdenum derived from the binuclear and trinuclear organic molybdenum compounds is 0.025% by mass or higher based on the total amount of the composition, and in which the lubricating oil composition has a high-temperature high-shear viscosity at 100&#xb0; C. of 4.0 to 5.0 mPa&#xb7;s, a high-temperature high-shear viscosity at 150&#xb0; C. of 2.5 mPa&#xb7;s or lower and a NOACK value (250&#xb0; C., 1 hr) of 15% by mass or less.

Lubricant composition for internal combustion engine

A lubricant oil composition which is excellent in deposition resistance, corrosion resistance and wear resistance, despite its low phosphorus content and low sulfuric acid ash content, is provided by using a succinimide compound in combination with at least one selected from specific sulfur-containing compounds, specific heterocyclic compounds and reaction products thereof.

Provided is an additive for lubricating oils which enhances frictional characteristics of slide parts in internal combustion engines and driving system transmission engines and which exhibit an excellent fuel consumption reducing effect. The above additive for lubricating oils comprises a heterocyclic compound having a heterocyclic skeleton originating in a compound selected from pyridines, pyrroles, pyrimidines, pyrazoles, pyridazines, indazoles, pyrazines, triazines, triazoles, tetrazoles, oxazoles, oxadiazoles, thiazoles, thiadiazoles, furans, dioxanes, pyrans and thiophenes. A lubricating oil composition containing the above additive for lubricating oils is effectively used for various low friction slide members, antifriction bearings and slide bearings.

The present invention provides a lubricating oil composition capable of achieving a lubricating property, a thermal stability, an oxidation stability, an anti-discoloring property and an anti-varnishing performance with a higher level by compounding a phosphorus compound having a specific structure in a base oil, as well as a lubricating oil composition for internal combustion engines which is excellent in wear resistance, high-temperature detergency and base number retention property although it has a low phosphorus content, a low sulfur content and a low sulfated ash content.

Lubricating oil compositions

Provided is a lubricating oil composition of an environmental regulation compliant type, comprising (A) a base oil for a lubricating oil, (B) sulfated oxymolybdenum dithiocarbamate, (C) an acid amide compound, (D) (d1) a fatty acid partial ester compound and/or (d2) an aliphatic amine compound and (E) a specific benzotriazole derivative, wherein a content of the component (B) is 0.02 to 0.1% by mass in terms of molybdenum; a content of the component (C) is 0.2 to 1.0 % by mass; a content of the component (D) is 0.2 to 1.0% by mass; and a content of the component (E) is 0.02 to 0.1% by mass each based on the whole amount of the composition, and it has an excellent friction reducing effect in combination with a high corrosion preventing effect to copper and lead.

Lubricating oil composition

A lubricating oil composition used in an internal combustion engine is provided. The internal combusting engine uses a fuel that contains at least one fat and oil selected from a group consisting of natural fat and oil, hydrotreated natural fat and oil, transesterified natural fat, and oil and hydrotreated transesterified natural fat and oil. The lubricating oil composition includes: base oil of lubricating oil; a component (A) containing a boron derivative of an alkyl or alkenyl-substituted succinimide compound having a number average molecular weight of 200 to 5000; and a component (B) containing an alkaline earth metal-based detergent. The component (A) is contained by 0.01 to 0.2 mass % in terms of boron of a total amount of the composition while the component (B) is contained by 0.35 mass % or less in terms of the alkaline earth metal of the total amount of the composition.

A lubricating oil composition according to the present invention is used in an internal combustion engine. The internal combustion engine uses a fuel that contains at least one fat and oil selected from a group consisting of natural fat and oil, hydrotreated natural fat and oil, transesterified natural fat and oil and hydrotreated transesterified natural fat and oil. The lubricating oil composition contains a component (A) that is an alkaline earth metal-based detergent. The component (A) is contained by a content of more than 0.35 mass % and 2 mass % or less of the total amount of the composition in terms of alkaline earth metal.

A lubricating oil composition for internal combustion engines, containing a base oil, (A) at least one compound selected from disulfide compounds represented by the following general formula (I):ROOC-A-S&#x2014;S-A-COOR&#x2003;&#x2003;(I)and disulfide compounds represented by the following general formula (II):ROOC&#x2014;CRR&#x2014;CR(COOR)&#x2014;S&#x2014;S&#x2014;CR(COOR)&#x2014;CRR&#x2014;COOR&#x2003;&#x2003;(II),(B) an organomolybdenum compound, and (C) a phenol-based antioxidant and/or an amine-based antioxidant. The lubricating oil composition is a low ash, low phosphorus lubricating oil composition which is used for internal combustion engines such as gasoline engines, diesel engines and gas engines, which has improved oxidation stability and friction reducing effect, and which complies with environmental regulations.

Provided is a lubricating oil composition comprising a base oil for a lubricating oil, (A) a fatty acid partial ester compound, 0.5 to 1.5% by mass of (B) (b1) an aliphatic amine compound and/or (b2) an acid amide compound, 0.01 to 0.1% by mass of (C) a specific benzotriazole derivative and a specific amount of (D) a specific succinimide compound. It is a lubricating oil composition of an environmental regulation compliant type which is used for internal combustion engines such as gasoline engines, diesel engines, engines using dimethyl ether for fuel, gas engines and the like, which does not contain Mo base friction reducing agents and is reduced in ash, phosphorus and sulfur and in which a friction reducing effect, an oxidation stability and a corrosion inhibiting effect are enhanced.

The present invention provides a lubricating oil composition comprising a lube base oil comprising a mineral oil and/or a synthetic oil; (A) an alkenylsuccinimide or an alkylsuccinimide and/or a boron-containing derivative thereof in an amount of 0.01 to 0.14% by mass based on the composition in terms of the nitrogen content as an ashless dispersant, wherein an alkenylsuccic acid monoimide or an alkylsuccinic acid monoimide and/or a boron-containing derivative thereof in the ashless dispersant is 0.05% by mass or less in terms of nitrogen content; and (B) a dialkyldiphenylamine compound in an amount of 0.3 to 5.0% by mass and a hindered phenol compound in an amount of 0 to 2.5% by mass based on the composition as an antioxidant, and (C) a sulfated ash of the lubricating oil composition is 1.2% by mass or less. The lubricating oil composition suitable for internal combustion engines has excellent oxidation stability despite low ash content, exhibits small increase in viscosity and acid number, and can prolong the interval (distance or time) required for changing lubricating oil.

Pyrazole derivatives of the general formula (I) or salts thereof, ##STR1## wherein each symbols are as defined in the specification, herbicides containing the above compounds as active ingredients, and aromatic carboxylic acid derivatives or salts thereof suitable as intermediates for the production of the above pyrazole derivatives. The above pyrazole derivatives or salts thereof, provided by the present invention, cause no phytotoxicity on upland field crops such as corn, etc., and can selectively control a broad range of upland weeds such as grass weeds and broad-leaved weeds at a low dosage in pre-emergence treatment and in post-emergence treatment.

The present invention relates to cyclohexanedione derivatives or salts thereof and herbicides containing the cyclohexanedione derivatives and/or salts thereof as active ingredients, the cyclohexanedione derivatives having the general formula (I). ##STR1## The cyclohexanedione derivatives or the salts thereof can selectively control a broad range of upland soil weeds at a low dosage without causing phytotoxicity on crops cultivated in upland fields such as corn, in both upland pre-emergence and post-emergence treatments.
