A signal processing apparatus performs an object detection process of detecting object data with respect to peak signals which indicate a difference in frequency between a transmitted signal of which the frequency is changed in a predetermined period and a received signal which is obtained by receiving a reflected wave that corresponds to a transmitted wave which is based on the transmitted signal and is reflected from an object, by deriving the peak signals in a first period where the frequency of the transmitted signal ascends and in a second period where the frequency of the transmitted signal descends and by pairing the peak signals in the first period and the second period. A vehicle mounted radar device operable to scan a transmission wave to detect a detection point representing a position of an object disposed around the vehicle on the basis of a reflected wave of the transmission wave from the object. The radar device includes a reading unit, a continuity determination unit, a setting unit, anti an object determination unit that are configured to prevent the radar device from erroneously determining different pieces of object information as a single object.

A radar apparatus is provided. An antenna is configured to transmit a frequency-modulated transmission wave toward an object and receive a reception wave from the object. A mixer is configured to mix the transmission wave with the reception wave to generate a beat signal having a first beat interval and a second beat interval. A detecting section is configured to detect a plurality of first peak signals contained in the first beat interval of the beat signal and a plurality of second peak signals contained in the second beat interval. A grouping section is configured to group the second peak signals. A searching section is configured to search a part of the first peak signals corresponding to the grouped second peak signals. A rain sensor operates such that when a raindrop cuts off a direct light beam from a transmitter to a detector, the output level of the detector is lowered. A convex member is disposed to prevent a portion of the light emitted from the transmitter from reflecting and then reaching the detector. Thus, detecting error due to such reflected light is reduced.
