An extruder has a cylindrical container into which a billet is loaded; a two-piece seal block disposed on an end surface of the container at an extruding stem side; a vacuum deaerating hole formed in the seal block; and a fixed dummy block, having an internal cooling function, fixed to an end of the extruding stem, wherein the seal block is allowed to be opened and closed in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction of the container and the seal block comes in close contact with an outer surface of the extruding stem and the end surface of the container when the seal block is closed.

A method for the production of a metallic powder molding material is disclosed which comprises a step of imparting mechanical energy due to at least one of such physical actions as vibration, pulverization, attrition, rolling, shocks, agitation, and mixing a metallic particles in a vessel whose interior is held under vacuumized atmosphere or an atmosphere of inert gas thereby enabling the metallic particles to contact each other and acquire improvement in surface quality and a step of hot molding the metallic particles thereby producing a molding material.

Method for production of powder metallurgy alloy

A high strength aluminum alloy including 5 to 13 wt % Si, 1 to 5 wt % Cu, 0.1 to 0.5 wt % Mg, 0.005 to 0.3 wt % Sr, and the balance Al and inevitable impurities. The aluminum alloy is subjected to pressure casting and T6 heat treatment. The solution treatment time can be shortened.

Solution heat-treated high strength aluminum alloy

A gas venting arrangement incorporated into a mold for use in a die casting or injection mold machine, having a passage for venting gases including by-pass passages and a valve chamber consisting of a forward portion formed in the mold where the valve is slidably received and a rear portion formed by a member separate from the mold. The valve and the passage are designed so that the valve is forced to move from an opened position to a closed position to shut the passage upon axial impingement of a melt from a cavity of the mold. The arrangement has a first system for biasing the valve into the opened position, a second system for biasing the valve into the opened position upon the melt impingement, and a system for releasing the valve from the second biasing means to return from the opened position to the closed position. There is provided a piston-cylinder device, in which the valve and the rear portion of the valve chamber form the piston and the cylinder, respectively, which device provides the first releasing system when the piston is actuated to move forward and second system for releasing the valve from the first biasing system to move from the closed position to the open position when the piston is actuated to move rearward.
