A vehicle drive device includes an input coupled to an internal combustion engine; an output coupled to wheels; first and second rotary electric machines; a differential including at least three rotary elements; a control; and an engagement device. The control determines, when engine stop conditions are established while the engagement device is drivably connected, the engine is operating, and the output member is rotating, whether rotation of the first electric machine when stop conditions are established is opposite to rotation of the first electric machine when rotation of the engine stops; executes torque control where the first electric machine outputs torque to reduce the rotational speed of the engine when the stop establishing rotational direction is opposite to the subject rotational direction; and issues a command to release the drivable connection when the rotational speed of the first electric machine falls within a rotational speed range that includes zero.

Vehicle drive device

A vehicle drive device includes a first rotating electrical machine, an input member, and an output member drivingly coupled to different rotating elements of a differential gear unit. A second rotating electrical machine is coupled to a different rotating element of the differential gear unit than the first rotating electrical machine. A control device detects an output rotation abrupt change where an absolute value of rotational acceleration of the output member is equal to or larger than a predetermined value, and, if the output rotation abrupt change state is detected where a rotational speed of the input rotating element is lower than a threshold value, the control device executes restriction avoidance where a rotational speed of the first rotating electrical machine is controlled so that the rotational speed of a input rotating element becomes equal to or higher than the threshold value.

A driving device with an input member connected to an engine, an output member connected to wheels, first and second rotating electrical machines, a differential gear unit including at least three rotational elements, and a control device. The control device includes a differential rotation reducing control, an engagement control, and a start up control that changes the rotation speed of the first rotating electrical machine, which allows the internal combustion engine to have a rotation speed at which starting is possible, made as a target value, when in direct engagement. The differential rotation reducing control changes the rotation speed of the first rotating electrical machine with the upper limit and the lower limit of a starting torque output range, which is a rotation speed range in which the torque necessary for starting the internal combustion engine may be output by the first rotating electrical machine, made as limits.

The invention includes a target-engine-speed acquisition element that acquires a target engine speed necessary to reduce engine speed, thereby stopping the engine at a target stop position; a crank-angle acquisition element that acquires a crank angle indicative of the position of a crankshaft; and a target-engine-speed correction element that corrects the target engine speed according to the acquired crank angle. Because the target engine speed is corrected according to the crank angle, the engine can be stopped at the target stop position even if the friction in the engine, the electric motor, etc. varies, the temperature or viscosity of the lubricating and cooling oils varies, or the vehicle is accelerated or decelerated during the reduction of the engine speed.

A hybrid drive apparatus includes an engine, a first electric motor for generating electric power by using at least a portion of its output and for controlling the speed of the engine and a control unit for controlling the engine and the first electric motor. The control unit performs a prepositioning control for positioning the engine being fuel-cut to a predetermined cranking start position such as a constant crank angle position or a constant cranking load position by the motoring of the first electric motor. As a result, the engine can always be started under identical conditions, and the torque vibrations to be outputted to a wheel have identical waveforms so that a simple torque correction can be made by outputting corresponding waveform data.

The invention has an electric generator target torque calculation processor, a first determination processor for calculating an inertia correction determining value, a second determination processor for calculating an integral term correction determining value, a determining mode switching condition judgment processor, and a drive motor target torque calculation processor. When a determining mode switching condition exists, the drive motor target torque calculation processor switches between a first determining mode for calculating drive motor target torque, and a second determining mode for calculating the drive motor target torque. When the determining mode switching condition exists, the first determining mode and the second determining mode are switched so that the drive motor target torque is calculated on the basis of the integral term correction determining value.

An electric vehicle drive control apparatus has an electric machine; a battery; an inverter that is driven in accordance with a drive signal, and that receives DC current from the battery and produces phase currents, and that supplies the phase currents to the electric machine; a battery voltage detection device that detects the battery voltage; and an electric machine torque restriction processing device that determines whether the battery voltage is higher than a threshold value, and restricts the electric machine torque if the battery voltage is higher than the threshold value. If the battery voltage becomes higher than the threshold value, the electric machine torque is restricted. Therefore, increases in the load on the inverter can be prevented.

To realize a determination whether or not a failure has occurred in a one-way clutch, a hybrid vehicle is provided with an engine , a generator motor , an output shaft coupled to a driving wheel , a differential gear unit that is provided with at least three gear elements, the elements coupled to the engine , the generator motor , and the output shaft, respectively, a one-way clutch that is placed in a free state when the engine rotates in a forward direction and in a locked state when the engine begins to rotate in a backward direction, and a failure occurrence determination process means that determines that a failure has occurred in the one-way clutch if an engine speed is a negative value. Since it is determined that a failure has occurred in the one-way clutch when the engine speed is a negative value, a damage of the one-way clutch can be prevented from being aggravated.
