An audio processing apparatus includes a first input port, a second input port, a first processor that processes an audio signal input to the first input port and that includes a first adjuster which adjusts acoustic characteristics of the audio signal, a second processor that processes an audio signal input to the second input port, and output ports having a first particular output port. In a first operation mode, the first adjuster is set in an effective state and each of an audio signal as processed by the first processor and an audio signal as processed by the second processor is output from one or more of the output ports. In a second operation mode, the first adjuster is set in an ineffective state and an audio signal as processed by the first processor is output from the first particular output port.

While level of the inputted analog signal is adjusted according to a set analog gain value and then analog-digital converted and outputted, when an automatic compensation is on and a difference of the analog gain value and a target value is compensated by level adjustment in a digital amplifier, the analog gain value is displayed by a gain knob, and in response to an operation to turn on the automatic compensation, a present value of the analog gain value at that time is displayed as a target gain value by a mark near the analog gain value, and in response to an operation to turn off the automatic compensation, display of the target gain value is erased.

Audio signal processing system

A digital mixer includes a MO switch and a MO fader in a signal transmission route from each input channel to a bus of a MIX_MINUS type, a signal of the input channel is supplied to the MIX bus without control on its level when the MO switch is OFF, while being supplied to the MIX bus after being controlled on its level by the MOL fader when the MO switch is ON. When the MO switch is changed from OFF to ON, a level adjustment amount by the MOL fader is set to a value so that a signal passing therethrough comes to have zero level.

Digital mixer

Six input channels, to which are allocated 5.1-channel surround signals from a plurality of input sources, are grouped into a surround channel group, and these six input channels are connected to corresponding ones of six surround buses in a one-to-one relationship. Thus, merely grouping the input channels into a surround channel group allows the signals of the individual input channels (5.1-channel surround signals) to be taken out via a plurality of output destinations (5.1-channel speakers) corresponding to the surround buses. Once an instruction is given for changing a value of a parameter, the parameter is controlled in a ganged fashion in all of the input channels of the surround channel group except for an LFE input channel of the surround channel group.

Audio mixer

In a RAM-, a data area and a current memory are provided. A signal processing portion-processes audio signals in accordance with a parameter set stored in the current memory. In the data area, a plurality of S data sets each formed of a parameter set and an S list which is a list of S data sets are stored. Each S data set is identified by its unique identification information (SID). The S list stores list information including SIDs which identify the respective S data sets. When storage of the parameter set stored in the current memory is desired, a new SID is generated, so that list information including the generated SID is added to the S list, with the SID being added to the parameter set of the current memory to be stored as a new S data set in the data area.

Audio apparatus

CPU of a console accepts a full application activation instruction generated via an activation instruction switch. The CPU searches through all of apparatus of a mixing system, which the console belongs to, to detect any apparatus having connected thereto a USB dongle that has recorded therein an access key corresponding to an application program to be fully activated. If such an apparatus has been detected within the mixing system, the CPU places the application program in a fully activated state. If, on the other hand, no such apparatus has been detected, the CPU terminates a full application activation process. Such arrangements allows the application program, which requires authentication of the access key, to be executed with simple operation, while preventing unauthorized use of the application program.

Program licence management technique in an audio signal processing system

In each of a plurality of input channels of an audio mixer, there are provided a fader operator for adjusting a tone volume level, and a send level adjustment section for adjusting a send level of an audio signal to be sent from the channel to individual mixing buses. On an operation panel of the mixer, there are provided a plurality of bus selection switches in corresponding relation to the mixing buses. Once any one of the bus selection switches is depressed once, the mixing bus corresponding to the operated bus selection switch is allocated to a selected send level operator. Activation/deactivation of a Sends On Fader (SOF) function may be instructed by a user depressing any one of the bus selection switches twice in succession.

Audio mixer and parameter setting method therefor

Multi-channel audio signals arranged to achieve original two-dimensional sound image localization are input, and the audio signal of each channel, included in the input multi-channel audio signals, is distributed to individual output channels. Each of the distributed signals is multiplied by a corresponding coefficient determined independently for each of the output channels, in accordance with a deviation from the original two-dimensional sound image localization. Then, the audio signals distributed to the individual output channels and multiplied by the corresponding coefficients are summed up, separately for each of the output channels. Thus, the summed-up audio signals of the individual output channels are output as multi-channel audio signals having the sound image localization varied in accordance with the deviation. If the deviation from the original two-dimensional sound image localization is varied over time, a panning effect can be achieved.

Effect imparting apparatus for controlling two-dimensional sound image localization

A level adjustment method is applicable to an audio processing apparatus having a plurality of amplifiers corresponding to three or more of input channels of an audio signal for amplifying signal levels of the respective input channels. The level adjustment method is carried out by a group arrangement process of arranging the plurality of the input channels into one or more group, and a group control process of controlling each group such as to decrease an amplification rate of all the amplifiers corresponding to the input channels belonging to the same group as a maximal one of the signal levels of the input channels belonging to the same group increases. Typically, the group arrangement process is applied to an audio signal of a surround system having at least six input channels including a left channel, a right channel, a left surround channel, a right surround channel, a center channel and an LFE channel.

Digital compressor for multi-channel audio system

In a digital mixer including a display, cursor controls, an increase/decrease control, and a plurality of channel strips for controlling parameters of input channels associated therewith, on a control panel, the channel strips each having a selection switch, an assignment switch is provided for assigning any one parameter among the parameters of the input channel to the increase/decrease control, so that where operation of the increase/decrease control is detected, when no selection switch has been operated, a value of a parameter displayed at the position of the cursor is changed in accordance with the operation of the increase/decrease control, while when any selection switch has been operated, a value of a parameter assigned to the increase/decrease control among parameters of an input channel corresponding to a channel strip having the selection switch is changed.

Plural part playback channels each play back music performance signals of respectively assigned performance parts selectively in an enhanced mode or in an unenhanced mode. When an enhanced mode is designated for a particular channel (at time A), the channel plays back the music performance signals in a prominent manner and channels plays back in a suppressed manner. The tone volume of the channels in the suppressed manner is set by manipulating the contrast dial CD. Where the enhanced mode is set for plural channels and (between time C and time D), manipulation of an enhanced mode clear switch SC (at time D) causes cancellation of the prominent manner of playback at the channels and as well as the suppressed manner of playback at the channels

Apparatus for playing music with enhanced part performance and computer program therefor

In a reverberation effect imparting apparatus, sampled data of an input signal is written into a RAM 23 and the data is read out after an elapse of a predetermined time period, thereby imparting a reverberation effect. A storage area of the RAM 23 is divided into an area 1 for storing waveform data and an area 2 for imparting a reverberation effect. During evaluation, the waveform data is sequentially read out from the area 1 by using an absolute address, and sampled data of the waveform data is written into and read out from the area 2 by using a relative address, thereby imparting a reverberation effect.
