Fuse

A compact fuse () for an automobile is provided. The fuse is formed by a fuse element () and an insulative housing () having a cutaway portion (). The fuse element includes two base plates () and a melting portion () connecting the base plates. The melting portion is accommodated in the housing and parts of the base plates are exposed from the housing. The length of the base plate is the sum of the length (A) of the melting portion in the longitudinal direction of the base plate, the length (B) of a notch () in the longitudinal direction of the base plate, and the length (C) of a cover supporting portion in the longitudinal direction of the base plate.

Blade fuse

A 42V fuse and a fuse support used in an electric circuit of an automobile. The 42V fuse includes first and second terminals, a fuse line connecting the first and second terminals, and a housing. The fuse support has a pair of guide blocks. A groove extends through each block. The grooves enable the 42V fuse to be connected to the fuse support. Further, the grooves restrict the connection of a 14V fuse to the fuse support.
