A solid electrolytic capacitor includes a capacitor element, an anode terminal, a cathode terminal, and a sealing resin covering the capacitor element. The anode terminal includes a support portion for supporting the capacitor element, and an anode standing portion formed upright relative to the support portion. The capacitor element includes an anode wire projecting from a porous sintered body. The anode wire is placed on the upper end face of the anode standing portion. The anode wire and the anode standing portion have parts that are exposed from the sealing resin and covered by an electrically conductive anode terminal covering layer for ensuring electrical connection between the anode wire and the anode terminal.

Solid electrolytic capacitor and method for making the same

A capacitor element in which a dielectric film, a solid electrolyte layer, and a cathode-side electrode film are formed on the anode chip body obtained by sintering a powder of a valve-acting metal is manufactured without causing decrease in the effective volume of the metal powder or degradation of electric connection. This is attained by adhesively attaching one end surface of the anode chip body to the surface of a metal plate with an electrically conductive adhesive, so that the end surface can be peeled off from the metal plate, successively forming a dielectric film, a solid electrolyte layer, and a cathode-side electrode film, in this order, on the anode chip body in this state to form a capacitor element, and peeling the capacitor element off and separating it from the metal plate.

Method for manufacturing capacitor element for solid electrolytic capacitor, method for manufacturing solid electrolytic capacitor using such capacitor element and solid electrolytic capacitor using such capacitor element

A solid electrolytic capacitor includes a capacitor element assembly, an anode lead and a cathode lead. The assembly includes a plurality of capacitor elements each consisting of a sintered valve metal chip, an anode wire projecting from the chip, a solid electrolytic layer formed on the chip, and a cathode layer formed on the electrolytic layer. The chip of each capacitor element is flat, having a thickness smaller than its length and width. The capacitor elements are stacked in a thickness direction of the chip so that the cathode layers of the respective capacitor elements are connected to each other. The anode wires are fixed to the anode lead. At least one of the cathode layers is directly connected to the cathode lead.

Solid electrolytic capacitor

A capacitor element includes an anode chip body formed by sintering valve metal powder, an anode wire projecting from an end surface of the anode chip body, and a ring member made of a water-repellent thermoplastic synthetic resin and fitted around a root portion of the anode wire connected to the anode chip body. The ring member is fitted and attached to the anode wire. The ring member adheres closely to both of the anode chip body and the anode wire without a gap by thermally melting the ring member in its fitted state around the anode wire.
