Provided is a method for producing a non-colored polyester with a high molecular weight. The method is to produce a polyester represented by a general formula (2). This method comprises: a first step of heating, under the presence of an antimony catalyst, a compound represented by the general formula (1) at a heating temperature in a range of from a melting point of the compound to a temperature that is 10&#xb0; C. higher than the melting point; and a second step of heating a solid product or viscous product obtained after the first step at a heating temperature in a range of from the melting point of the compound represented by the general formula (1) to 270&#xb0; C. 

Method for producing polyester

An object is to increase crystallization speed, which is a drawback of polyhydroxyalkanoate, to improve processability in processing such as injection molding or blow molding and increase the speed of processing and is, in addition, to refine the crystal of polyhydroxyalkanoate to suppress a change of mechanical properties with passage of time of a resulting molded article. Disclosed herein is a polyester resin composition containing polyhydroxyalkanoate and pentaerythritol.

A biopolyester which is poly(3-hydroxyalkanoate) or poly(3-hydroxyalkanoate) copolymer and has a reduced calcium content. It has improved thermal stability due to the reduced calcium content.
