An electric work machine, such as a lawn mower includes a motor case () fixed inside a main-body housing (). A brushless motor () is housed inside the motor case () and includes a stator () having a stator core (), coils (), and upper and lower insulators (), and a rotor () disposed inward of the stator () and having a rotary shaft (). A spindle () is driven by the rotary shaft (). The motor case () holds the stator () and axially supports the rotary shaft () via bearings (). One or more insulating members, such as an insulating cap () and/or a resin layer (), provide electrical insulation between the stator core () and the rotary shaft ().

Electric work machine

An electric work machine includes a brushless motor including a stator including a stator core, an electrical insulator located on the stator core, and at least one coil wound around the stator core with the electrical insulator in between, and a rotor rotatable with respect to the stator, and an output unit drivable by the brushless motor. The stator core has a through-hole and/or a recess to lock rotation of the stator with a screw.

A battery device that functions as a power source of a tool main body and is attachable to a body of a user may include a battery housing that is capable of removably receiving at least one rechargeable battery and capable of being electrically connected to the at least one battery, an adaptor that is capable of being electrically connected to the tool main body, and a cable electrically connecting the battery housing and the adaptor. The battery housing comprises a housing body that is constructed to be attached to the body of the user and is capable of receiving the at least one battery therein, and a cover member that is openably and closably attached to the housing body. The housing body and the at least one battery are connected to each other via a male-female engagement device. The male-female engagement device has an engagement release portion that is positioned so as to be exposed when the cover member is opened relative to the housing body.

An electric lawn mower may include a mower body including an electric motor, a cutting blade rotatably driven by the electric motor for mowing a lawn, a battery mount configured to hold a battery, and a lock including a key and a key receiver for locking and unlocking the electric motor. The key receiver may be spaced from the battery mount and when the key is inserted into the key receiver, the electric motor may be unlocked for operation.

An electric lawn mower may include a mower body including an electric motor, a cutting blade rotatably driven by the electric motor for mowing a lawn, and a battery mount configured to hold a battery where the electric motor is driven by electric power from the battery, and the battery is mountable on the battery mount at a mount position where the battery is positioned higher than the electric motor and rearward of an axis of the electric motor.

A tool unit for a cutting device includes a rotary blade, a blade case for covering at least a part of the blade case, and a drive device mounted to the blade case for rotatably driving the rotary blade. A handle is attached to the drive device. The blade case has a front support portion. The handle has a rear support portion. When the tool unit is used for a portable cutting device, the front support portion can be vertically pivotally supported by a front portion of the base, and the rear support portion can be supported by a guide member such that a position of the rear support portion can be changed relative to the guide member for enabling adjustment of a cutting depth of the rotary blade into the workpiece. When the tool unit is used for a table cutting device, the front support portion can be vertically pivotally supported by the table.

Battery box

A technique that increases operability in changing the rotational speed of a spindle in a power tool. The rotational speed can be changed in three levels by utilizing a planetary gear mechanism. The third gear position is located in an intermediate position in the sliding direction of the speed changing part. The first speed change position is located on one side of the third speed change position. The second speed change position is located on the other side of the third speed change position. During operation, shifting between the first and third speeds can be done without going through the second speed each time. Further, shifting between the second and third speeds can be done without going through the first speed. Therefore, speed change shifting can be facilitated.

Power tool

A battery-operated driver-drill () includes an epicycle reduction gear unit () which encases a switchover sleeve () having inner teeth () and outer teeth (). The gear unit () is rotatably mounted on second and third internal gears () and integrally slidably connected with a slide pate (). By operating the slide plate (), the switchover sleeve () may be slid between a first position, in which the slide plate () engages one of the second and third internal gears () while engaging axial ridges () of a first gear case (), and a second position, in which the slide plate () simultaneously engages both the second internal gear () and a first carrier () adjacent to the second internal gear () while disengaged from the axial ridges ().

A chain tension device for tensioning a cutting chain of a chain saw utilizing a guide bar having an outer periphery and a drive sprocket. The chain saw body supports the guide bar, the sprocket and a drive source. A cutting chain is wound around the sprocket and the outer periphery of the guide bar and a leaf spring is supported by the chain saw body and interposed between the guide bar and the sprocket. The leaf spring abuts and biases the guide bar away from the sprocket so as to apply automatically an appropriate amount of tension to the cutting chain.
