A sensor includes a detection unit. A resin portion covers the detection unit. A cover is formed of a resin having a linear expansion coefficient different from a linear expansion coefficient of the resin portion to cover a part of the resin portion such that the resin portion protrudes. The resin portion includes a protruding surface facing a direction in which the resin portion protrudes and a side surface connected to the protruding surface. The cover includes a covering surface facing the direction, an inclined surface intersecting with the covering surface and the side surface to be connected to the covering surface and the side surface, and a projecting portion projecting in the direction. The projecting portion is connected to each of the side surface and the inclined surface.

Position detection device

A joined body includes: a first member having a hole; and a second member that is press-fitted to the hole. The second member has a second abutment surface abutting against a first abutment surface which is an inner wall of the first member forming the hole. A groove portion is defined on one of an inner wall of the first member and an outer wall of the second member, and has a groove formed to extend in a press-fitting direction of the second member to the first member. An insertion portion is formed to protrude in a radial direction from the other of the inner wall of the first member and the outer wall of the second member, and is inserted in the groove. The groove portion has an engagement portion that is able to be engaged with an end portion of the insertion portion in the press-fitting direction.

A rotation angle detection device for detecting a rotation angle of a rotating body includes a magnet disposed to rotate together with the rotating body, a magnetic portion provided in a ring shape radially outward of the magnet, a plurality of gaps being formed in the magnetic portion at a plurality of locations along a circumferential direction, and a magnetic detection unit arranged in a particular gap of the plurality of gaps. The magnetic detection unit is located at a detection position, a width of the particular gap in the tangential direction at the detection position is defined as a detection position gap width, a width of the particular gap in the tangential direction at a position radially outward of the detection position is defined as a tangential width, and the tangential width is narrower than the detection position gap width.

Rotation angle detection device

A support member includes a base projection. A cover includes a press-fitting portion and a cover projection. The press-fitting portion is press-fitted to a press-fitting hole of the support member. The cover projection is placed at a location, which is spaced from the base projection in a state where the press-fitting portion is press-fitted. At time of disassembling between the support member and the cover by sliding the cover in a releasing direction, the base projection and the cover projection contact with each other to form a disassembly indication mark, which indicates the disassembling between the cover and the support member, on at least one of the base projection and the cover projection.

When a rotational angle of a pedal is in a range from an angle of zero degrees to a predetermined rotational angle, which is larger than a full-opening-time rotational angle, a first Hall IC outputs a first voltage, which is twice larger than a second voltage outputted from a second Hall IC. When the rotational angle of the pedal is larger than the predetermined angle, the first Hall IC outputs a predetermined constant voltage. When an output difference, which is computed based on the first voltage and the second voltage, is equal to or smaller than a second threshold value, an abnormality of the sensed rotational angle of the pedal is determined.

Accelerator apparatus for vehicle

A rotation angle sensor detects a rotation angle of a pedal by its first Hall IC and second Hall IC, which are disposed between two magnets and output voltages varying with magnetic flux changes. When the rotation angle of the pedal is an accelerator full-closure rotation angle or more, the first Hall IC generates a first voltage V, which is twice as large as a second voltage Vof the second Hall IC. When the rotation angle is less than 0&#xb0;, the first Hall IC fixes the first voltage irrespective of the rotation angle. An ECU determines that the rotation angle is abnormal indicating that the pedal rotates in an accelerator closing direction beyond an accelerator full-closure position, when an output difference Gcalculated as G=V/2&#x2212;Vis more than a predetermined value.

Accelerator apparatus

An accelerator pedal is engaged with the rotor so that the accelerator pedal is pivotable about a rotation axis. A coil spring is arranged on a biasing axis that is generally tangential to an arc path, along which a protrusion of the rotor passes when the rotor rotates about the rotation axis. A holder is interposed between the protrusion of the rotor and the coil spring. A concave surface of the holder contacts a convex surface of the protrusion. A receiving portion of the holder receives the coil spring. The contact point is located between a second end and a first end of the coil spring. The concave surface of the holder and the convex surface of the protrusion are curved to satisfy a predetermined relationship.
