A muscle activity output system includes: a muscle activity database configured to hold movable part attitude information and muscle activity information in such a manner that the movable part attitude information and the muscle activity information are linked to each other; and a processor. The movable part attitude information indicates an attitude of a movable part of training equipment. The muscle activity information indicates a muscle activity of each of muscle sites of the exerciser. The processor is configured to acquire the movable part attitude information while the exerciser is moving the body along the trajectory, acquire current muscle activity information for each of the muscle sites based on current movable part attitude information of the training equipment and the muscle activity database, and output the current muscle activity information for each of the muscle sites.

The safety device () for a vehicle has colliding body receiving sections (), and opposite longitudinal ends of each colliding body receiving section () are bent to form legs () having ends (A). The ends (A) are fixed to side frames () on the vehicle body side to form impact absorption members (). The safety device () is adapted so that, while supporting a collision load, the impact absorption members () are displaced to absorb collision energy of the colliding body. The impact absorption members () can produce displacement regions that acts against an increase in the displacement in the direction of collision to suppress an increase in supporting load.

The design domain of an object to be designed is discretized by a plurality of nodes (), and adjacent nodes and non-adjacent nodes are connected by beam elements (). Optimization is performed on a design model constructed from the nodes () and beam elements (), to obtain an initial design shape. When maximizing stiffness, the sensitivity of the stiffness matrix is determined, the cross sectional area of the beam elements with high sensitivity is increased, and the cross sectional area of the beam elements with low sensitivity is either reduced or set to zero so that low sensitivity beam elements are substantially removed. By constructing the design model using a plurality of beam elements, a reasonable shape satisfying the boundary condition can be obtained.

A bending strain measurement apparatus for an abdomen of an anthropomorphic dummy comprises a band constituted of an elastic thin plate member. The band is arranged in a longitudinal direction of the abdomen, has one end thereof fixed in the vicinity of the abdomen of the dummy, and a plurality of gauges are arranged in a longitudinal direction of the band for detecting a bending strain of the abdomen when an obstacle collides with the abdomen. A measuring device measures time history of the bending strain based on bending strain of the respective portions of the band detected by the gauges arranged on the band, as a time transition of the bending strain of respective portions of the band.
