A seat device (12) including a seat back (16) having an upper seat back frame portion (34), a lower seat back frame portion (36), and a pivotal connection for pivotally supporting and connecting the upper seat back frame portion (34) to the lower seat back frame portion (36) about a pivot pin (38). A positioner extends between the two seat back frame portions and is provided with at least one motor (66), connected to a threaded shaft (62), which drives the positioner. The motor (66) is resiliently mounted to one of the seat back frame portions (34,36) using flexible bushings (80) which absorb the play between the upper and lower seat back frame portions (34,36) when the two are pivoted relative to one another.

Seat device

A vehicular seat assembly is disclosed which comprises two seat sliders each including a lower rail secured to a vehicular floor and an upper rail sidably disposed on the lower rail; a seat frame securely mounted on the upper rails of the seat sliders; a seat cushion mounted on the seat frame; a side decorative panel attached to one lateral side of the seat frame for concealing unsightly portions; and a projection integrally formed on the side decorative panel, the projection being seated on the upper rail of one of the seat sliders.

Vehicular seat assembly

A trim cover for use with seats in vehicles and having an electric heater housed therein wherein its surface skin and base cloth are linearly joined with each other at the sitting areas of the trim cover in the longitudinal direction thereof to form an appropriate number of elongated sack-like portions between the surface skin and the base cloth, a pulling loop traverse the sack-like portions at the middle thereof is joined together with the surface skin and the base cloth, a pair of openings are formed at the middle of each of the sack-like portions which are closed by the pulling loop at the middle thereof, interposing the pulling loop between the paired openings, that portion of the pulling loop which corresponds to the width of each of the sack-like portions is cut away, leaving a piece of pulling loop at the border of the adjacent sack-like portions, each of band-like portions of the electric heater is inserted through its corresponding sack-like portion, passing over the pulling loop between the paired openings, and a pulling wire is passed through the pulling loop pieces each extending between the adjacent band-like portions of the electric heater.

Trim cover for use with seats in vehicles

A seat cushion is pivotally mounted on a base structure so as to be pivotal between its horizontal in-use position and its upright folded position. A roller is rotatably connected to a rear end of the seat cushion, which is operatively engaged with a curved guide rail secured to the base structure so as to run along the guide rail during the pivotal movement of the seat cushion. A roller catching device is arranged in the guide rail for catching and thus holding the seat cushion in the upright folded position when the seat cushion is pivoted to the upright folded position.

A trim cover for use with seats in vehicles and having an electric heater housed therein wherein seams each for binding its surface skin and base cloth together are formed at the sitting area of the trim cover in the longitudinal direction thereof to form an appropriate number of elongated sack-like portions between the surface skin and the base cloth, a pulling loop traverse the sack-like portions at the middle thereof is joined together with the surface skin and the base cloth, a pair of openings are formed at the middle of each of the sack-like portions, interposing the pulling loop between the paired openings, a through-hole is provided at that portion of the pulling loop which is located between the paired openings, each of band-like portions of the electric heater is inserted through its corresponding sack-like portion, passing through the paired openings and the through-hole in the pulling loop between the paired openings, and a pulling wire is passed through the pulling loop.

A seat cushion is mounted on a seat cushion frame in such a manner that skin member of the seat cushion covers a front portion of the seat cushion frame. A zig-zag structure is secured to the front portion of the frame to provide near the front portion of the frame an outwardly projected portion. A garnish of deformable material is arranged to conceal unsightly portions of the frame and the seat cushion and is formed with a groove into which the outwardly projected portion is snugly received thereby tightly supporting the front portion of the garnish to the frame.

A folding seat is disclosed which comprises a base structure, a seat cushion pivotally mounted to the base structure, a seat back pivotally connected to the seat cushion, first springs arranged between the seat cushion and the seat back to bias them toward each other, a second spring arranged between the seat cushion and the base structure, and a guide mechanism for causing the seat back to pivot to its upright in-use position when the seat cushion is pivoted to its horizontal in-use position. The second spring is so arranged that once the seat cushion is pivoted to a certain angular position, further pivoting of the same toward a desired position is automatically carried out thereafter.

An auxiliary seat assembly is proposed for use in the cab of automobiles or the similar vehicles; for effective utilization of the cab inside space, the seat cushion and seat back can be housed as folded in a pocket formed in the rear or lateral body panel of the cab.
